Deborah Davis So nice to hear from you, Robert! Plimpton's book is wonderful - I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Also Gerald Clark's biography of Capote. And you may want to watch for an upcoming memoir by Peter Duchin. I never get tired of this subject!
Deborah Davis Hi Lisa! Nice to meet you. I've always been interested in Andy, but I didn't think there was an inch of his life that hadn't been explored...until I came across a reference to a road trip he took in 1963. With a little research, I realized that his trip was a life-defining moment for him and the real start of the fabulous swinging sixties. Best part -- I had his receipts so I actually got to drive cross-country and re-create the trip. Route 66 is a blast. Hope this answers your question and thanks so much for writing. best, Deborah
Deborah Davis Thank you for the lovely comments! Researching is my favorite way to spend time. I just spent two tears working on a new book about Andy Warhol - The Trip: Andy Warhol's Plastic Fantastic Cross-Country Adventure, on sale July 28. I'd love to discuss it with your book club!
