You have become my new favorite non fiction author. I loved your Party of the Century! The Black and White Ball has always been interesting to me! Now The Trip!!! What draws (pardon the pun) to Warhol?

Hi Lisa! Nice to meet you. I've always been interested in Andy, but I didn't think there was an inch of his life that hadn't been explored...until I came across a reference to a road trip he took in 1963. With a little research, I realized that his trip was a life-defining moment for him and the real start of the fabulous swinging sixties. Best part -- I had his receipts so I actually got to drive cross-country and re-create the trip. Route 66 is a blast. Hope this answers your question and thanks so much for writing. best, Deborah

Just complimenting you! I chose Strapless for my live book group to discuss the month it was published and it is still the only book this group of 16 ever unanimously loved! So happy I read it. You are one of the best writer/researchers I ever read. Thank you so much for publishing your gifts to us!

After reading The Swans of Fifth Avenue, I wanted to know more about the Black & White Ball. Your book was perfect! A terrific read and you brought the entire event to life. You've further enticed my fascination with Capote - I'm about to start George Plimpton's oral bio. Once I am done with with Truman, I'm going to delve into your other books?
