Best of worlds! I choose locations I am familiar with and enjoy. I write a series, so most of my characters are long-time friends I like spending time with. And, ideas keep popping. Only problem, sometimes they keep me awake at night! I enjoy reading cozy mystery novels, and, for me, writing one is very much like reading one since I am what is called a "pantser" discovering the story as I write. (The term comes from writing by the seat of my pants, in case you wondered.) Thanks for asking!

Write because you love writing--not because you think it's going to make lots of money or give you prestige. When authors say "write because you have to," think about how you react to that.

I have yet to experience that, though there have been delays in writing because of external events I couldn't avoid.

Too exciting to talk about yet! The hottest location yet. :-)

Ideas for all my books (both fiction and non-fiction) come from locations I have been and experiences I have had there. For example, I have visited the War Eagle Craft Fair, War Eagle Mill, and Hobbs State Park many times. When story ideas related to drug dealing began to stir in my thoughts, combining story and locations became natural--and fun!
