I'm thinking about listing to your books on audible. What is the read order? I'm asking because I don't want to start a book, and find out later that it is book one in the 3rd series in the same univere. I tried looking on audible and it said start with Holy War. The next series you list has 3 series with very simular names. I looked on your website and I could not determine the read order. Thanks in advance

Hey dude, just wanted to say that I'm new to your work and just read Genesis (as maybe my 30th sci-fi book this year?) and it was one of my all time favorites for the whole year so far. Great work!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Rick Partlow By thinking about an unexplored aspect of the universe I created for another book.

How do you get inspired to write?
Rick Partlow By reading. Books transported me to another world, and I decided I wanted to be the architect of that world.

What are you currently working on?
Rick Partlow I just finished my Recon mil-sf series and I am working on finishing a short story for the Beyond the Black anthology. After that, I intend to start a series about a pair of disgraced former war heroes who become outlaws.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Rick Partlow Write. Finish a novel, then finish another. Your first couple may suck, but finish them anyway. It's good practice. Don't stop writing because you think your book sucks. don't abandon it, finish it and move past it.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Rick Partlow You make your own hours. This is also the worst thing about being a writer.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Rick Partlow I find that detailed plotting before-hand prevents serious writer's block. I had to deal with it much more when I was a seat-of-the-pants writer and mostly I wound up having to work the immediate plot problem out in longhand in a notebook.
