(view spoiler)[Did you cry when you "killed" Salem or did you always know he would not actually be dead. (I cried for days after reading Destiny) (hide spoiler)]

I am not a very emotional person when it comes to character deaths or anything like that in books / movies / television shows, but I did cry when Salem died. At that point, I didn't know if he would remain dead or not, and it was so difficult writing that scene - but I knew that there was a possibility of him coming back.

I mostly stick to the fantasy genre as a whole - excluding epic fantasy, however. But paranormal fantasy definitely appeals to me the most. Anything involving vampires, witches / magic, ghosts, etc. is intriguing to me. I have slowly been reading the final book of the 'The Mortal Instruments' series [I have had it since release and am only halfway through because I only allow myself three pages, at most, a night because I don't want it to end, haha]. I grew up reading Harry Potter and that was for the longest time my favorite series.

Firstly, I adore both characters... but I do have a soft spot for Salem. What makes this tough is the matter of the situation. Is Salem a vampire in this setting? If so, I would save Spencer and assume that Salem could handle rescuing himself... if not, I would save Salem and forever hate myself for leaving poor Spencer to burn.

I don't typically experience writer's block anymore. Before I sit down to write a novel, I now go through a process I call 'beats' (pinpoints of where the story needs to go and how it should progress) and then I follow them (for the most part, there are always alterations along the way). My husband is also a great help, if I ever get stuck, he is a good source of helpful ideas!

Not only do I get to create magical worlds and make up lives for imaginary people, but I get to bring others into these worlds and introduce these people to them. Fans are one of the greatest assets to being a writer, and without them writing would lose a lot of its appeal.
