Hi Talia! Good question. When I decided to write a YA book, I wanted to write something that was both sad and funny. I also wanted there to be romance. And I'd just bought myself a Canon Rebel camera and was taking lessons to learn how to take good pictures as a creative outlet other than writing. I came up with the idea of a girl who takes photos, and sees the world through her lens, and then meets a boy who's sick, only she doesn't know he's sick. That led to Pippa being a volunteer at the hospital and meeting him. After I wrote the first book, my publisher asked if I wanted to turn it into a series, so from there I started thinking of other things that could happen to Pippa after book 1 ended! I'm so glad you like it. Thanks for reading!

There's no such thing! What if you were a cashier at Target and you said "I just don't feel like working the register today!" so you just didn't go to work. You'd lose your job pretty fast! Sure, there's days when writing sucks, and you're not inspired and you can't think of what should happen next, but you just have to plod through it, until you get unstuck.
