Hello! I was hooked from the first book and literally flew though all 15. Just started 36 and had to stop reading at 3 am. I love your stories and won't pick them apart they are good! Now that I am a fan of your work, when do we get the next one? I loved Martinez she is so bad ass. Thank you so much for the good reads.
Dirk Patton Thank you! Book 16 is in the works and should be out this fall.

HI Dirk. The Voodoo Plague series on audiobook narrated by the incredible Jeffrey Kafer is just stunning. I thought i saw a post where you listed the potential release date of the series (I probably invented that) When can we expect to see book 6? Book 5 was absolutely brilliant.
Dirk Patton Don't have the rest of the series scheduled to go into production yet, but I'm hoping it will be soon.

What, if any, advice would you give aspiring writers in the dystopian sub-genre ?
Dirk Patton Try to make your take somewhat unique to separate yourself from the rest of the pack. Maybe the reason for the apocalypse or the results. Maybe the characters. Maybe the location. And I would encourage any writer to focus on the story rather than the apocalypse itself. Think of the dystopian world as background music to what's really going on with the survivors.

Will there be audio versions for the whole series? Jeffrey just owns John Chase. Just finished book 1 and it absolutely blew me away. This is ZA at its best.
Dirk Patton Thank you! Book 2 (Crucifixion) is currently available on audio. Books 3 through 5 are currently in production with Jeffrey, and I'm hoping 3 will be ready for release in June.

Dirk Patton In the earlier books the 10% immune was an estimate made by researchers. The 99.99% infection rate is what was claimed by the scientists who created the virus. As you've found, the 10% estimate was proven to be wrong.

In the Void, chapter two, fith or sixth paragraph, where did you come up the the words, modulated the throttle ? That doesn't fit with the rest of the words.
Dirk Patton Definition of modulate from Merriam-Webster

: to change or adjust (something) so that it exists in a balanced or proper amount

So, if one modulates the throttle, they are adjusting or changing it so it is in proper balance for the circumstances, i.e. maintaining control of a vehicle

How many books do you have planned for the V Plague series? I know at least 11--is that the last one?
Dirk Patton Merciless, #11, is not the last. Don't have a plan for total number in the series. When the story ends, the series will end.

Where is DOG? I am about halfway through the first book and they had to ditch the truck and they are running for their lives and there is NO MENTION of Dog!!! Now there is tons of action as they are running from the herd and all I can think of is "They left Dog in the truck, what happened to Dog!!!" I am so distracted with Dog that I can't even enjoy what is going on......so Where is DOG? :(

Dirk Patton I'm working on getting them done. Hope to have them ready for release early next year

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Dirk Patton Getting emails and reviews from readers that are enjoying my work. That is a total rush! To be able to create something from scratch, put it down on paper (well, on the screen) and then have someone else read it and feel like they are in the world you've created in, that's an amazing feeling.
