Sharon Winters I am writing a book of short stories--fiction. I have about 6,000 words completed on two stories: "The Girl in the Yearbook," and "Butterscotch."
Sharon Winters Yes. Sit down in front of your computer, put an image in your mind, and tell someone about it. Just know that you will have many chances to rewrite it before it's published. There's no pressure.
Sharon Winters Perhaps the cause of writer's block is the pressure to publish? I just know that I don't have to publish something unless I want to publish something; so, I can write something and know that there is no pressure.
Sharon Winters I write on my iPad while my husband is driving, and sometimes I write sitting in my office in front of my computer. I can write anywhere. We will be spending some time in Berlin, and I will write when I'm there. Best of all, fiction writers never have to tell the truth. When I wrote Cutted Chicken in Shanghai, I was careful to tell the truth, and now, I have been set free by fiction; although I still find myself looking at experiences in my life.
Sharon Winters People kept asking me questions about China and Shanghai, so I thought I would just write a book about my experience.
