(view spoiler)[The Black Sheep is by far the best series I have read. I read an average of 100 books a year.
Where does the Black Sheep series actually take place in the US? A few names were reveled toward the end of the series but not all. (hide spoiler)]

I missed this question somehow, or at least I can't find where I answered it. I usually get an email when someone asks a question here, but I don't recall getting one lately. Regardless, with apologies for the late answer, the bulk of the story takes place in what would have been the southeastern US in the distant past (book time distant, anyway).
Some have compared it to the civil war of the 1860's, but it's not based on that in any way. This story is based on a modern day apocalypse story of mine that has not yet been completed ( the story of Tyree ) but that I hope to write in it's entirety some day. The division came as people tried to rebuild and technology was lost as time went by due to the loss of so many skilled people.
I hope that helps :) And again, I apologize for missing this before.

Not at the moment, sorry. I am looking at it, trying to figure a storyline around the way the book ended, to see if I can pick the thread up and carry it forward. It is something I'd like to do, but trying to follow a book like that can be intimidating to say the least. I want to make sure that if I do it, I do the absolute best job I can.
If I do find a way to create a sequel, I will announce it on my blog, which copies here, as well as on my FB page. Promise.

Never throw anything away, no matter how much you don't like it at the time. Save it. It may be something that fits perfectly with something else you do down the road.
If you are feeling poorly about your ability, reread something you wrote years before. You will be able to see how much you've improved since then when you compare old material with new.
Write, no matter what it is. If you have an idea, write it down. Plot, conversation, action, whatever it is, write it. Even if you never use it, any exercise such as that will help you to improve.

I am not allowed to speculate in any way on book release dates. I made a blog post once a few years back about when I hoped to have a book finished. It wasn't even an estimate so much as a "I hope to get this done by this date". As it turned out, I wasn't able to do it. Someone reported to Amazon that I had missed a release date, based on my 'guess', made on a blog post. It wasn't, of course, but it still caused a lot of difficulty. Amazon takes that kind of thing seriously, which they should, and it took a while to settle it down. Since that time, my publisher has asked that I no longer offer even 'guesstimates' as to when a book may be available. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Firstly, I apologize for not seeing this earlier. I usually get an email alert whenever someone posts a question, but I did not get one for yours. Sorry about that. I am currently roughly 50-60% finished with Parno #5, which is about all I'm allowed to say. It is coming along nicely IMO, so that is always a plus. I hope to finish it ASAP and move on to the next FIRE novel. Thanks for your encouragement!

Still here, I promise. I have been active on social media, but you are correct in that I have not given my blog page the attention it deserves. Time gets away from me sometimes and I don't realize how much I've missed until I've missed it, if that makes sense. I have been working, however. I have so many projects that are waiting that I sometimes feel overwhelmed. Thank you for checking :)

First of all, thank you. I'm glad you enjoy them. As to your question, while there are often similarities in the books, the series themselves do not belong together. All are set in different circumstances and differ from one another. I do have a prequel in mind for Parno, that tells the story of Tyree, but for now it is on the slow burner due to so much else I have to do. I haven't abandoned the idea, but I can't at this time make it a priority. I'm trying to rearrange things so I have more time to write, but sometimes that is more difficult than I'd like to admit. Thank you for your question!

I'm sorry I missed this one when it was posted. I thought I was supposed to get email alerts when someone asked me a question, but maybe I don't have that set up right, as I just now saw this. There are currently eight "Fire" books, with the ninth entitled "Brimstone". I'm not allowed to speculate on release dates, so all I can do is tell you it's on the drawing board and looks good. Well, to me. Hopefully it will look good to you :) Thank you, and again I am sorry that this is so long getting answered. Unless I already answered it and it didn't show up. But thank you, no matter what, just for being interested in me :)

Assuming you're talking about Fire From the Sky, it's a seven book collection now, including the 7th title, which is available for pre-order and will 'drop' on July 18. There is a link to the collection on the page for "Friendly Fire", and I believe on each of the other books as well. Hope that answers your question!

Hi Janice! I'm glad you've enjoyed Fire up to now! I am unable to comment in any way about availability of future books due to a complaint to Amazon that a 'guesstimate' I made on my blog was a 'missed release date'. It wasn't of course, as I was just guessing as to when I could possibly finish something and hopefully make it available. But because of such a complaint I am no longer allowed to give a 'guess' on times. I'm sorry.
As to how many books? I don't know. There are at least five more already outlined or planned in some way, though you have to understand those are just rough ideas of where I want the story to go. As long as I can keep the storyline interesting, I plan to keep writing the Fire series. If it becomes 'stale' as some put it, well, then it will probably be time to end it.
Hopefully though, since the stories are for the most part character driven rather than event driven, I can keep it going a while and keep people entertained with it. I hope so anyway, since that's the main focus of what I do. I want people to be entertained, and not feel as if their time has been wasted when they finish one of my books.
I hope you enjoy future books in the series, Lord willing I get to write them!

First of all, I apologize for not having seen this sooner. Usually I get email notifications from Goodreads but not this time. I'm sorry I didn't know this was here.
As to your question, I have not ruled it out per se, but the thing is that Odd Billy Todd was written to be a completed story, and as such I sort of wrote myself into a corner where a sequel is concerned. I have sketched several outlines for a sequel but all of them hit one block or another and end up in the dust bin because I can't seem to find a way to make it a good story. My rule for myself where this (or any writing project actually) is concerned is that it has to be a good story. It has to be worth it to the people reading or else it's no good at all. Thus far I haven't found the formula for producing that kind of sequel. I will say that should I ever come up with that formula then I would almost certainly use it and try to create a quality sequel to Billy's story.
I know this isn't a definitive answer but it's honestly the best I can give you. I never imagined Billy being so popular, but then if I had I might have done it differently and that, maybe, would not have been as good.
Thank you, and I hope sincerely that you enjoyed Odd Billy Todd.

Oh please do. I named my rooster after Billy. It was a great book and the narration was spectacular! I often find myself falling in that drawl.

I apologize for not answering this when you sent it. I thought questions here linked to my e-mail and apparently this is not the case. I'm glad you enjoyed Billy and Roland. Monster was/is outside of my normal writing area, and I was careful to write it so that a younger crowd could enjoy it, so it's probably a bit tame for some. There are others stories in the series that have yet to be published, mostly because of a lack of time.
My wife says I'm most like Roland. Never thought of it as I wrote the story so I'll have to take her word for it, lol. I am currently working on a sequel to Roland, though there's no projected release date yet. It was never meant to have a follow up, so I'm having to work from scratch on it.
Again, I'm very sorry I missed this message when you originally posted it. I appreciate your kind words about my work and I am very glad you enjoyed them. If you haven't checked out my blog at wordpress, please do so. I started a few weeks ago hosting a Question and Answer Friday to reply to frequently asked or very original questions. Your question about who I was most like is the first time I've ever been asked that!
Sincerely,
NCR
