Thanks for your question, Cindy. I bought my first horse when I was sixteen, and have had horses in my life ever since. The women portrayed in my stories have varying degrees of involvement with horses, but I hope that my experience enables their interactions and relationships with horses to come across as genuine. The stories aren't about the horses, they are about the women--women who are sensitive and caring, and who are lucky enough to have both wonderful men, and beautiful horses, in their lives.

My favourite fictional couple would have to be Lady Dona de Colomb and Jean-Benoit Aubery of Daphne DuMaurier's Frenchmen's Creek.
I read this book in my teens, and yet to this day the emotions stirred by their story have not diminished. I re-wrote the ending of the book over and over and in doing so ignited my passion to write stories of my own.
