One Seuss, Two Seuss…

I've recently found if you read too much Seuss
Your brains quite invariably start to get loose,
And all of your sentences fall into meter
Like the thump-thumping feet of a geet-eater-greeter.
And if you greet beasties that like to eat geets
And your made-up-ed words sound like swift-stomping feets
And you're trying to rhyme while you're writing e-mail
Then your e-correspondence [...]

Machine Gun Q&A #4

A while back, I offered people the chance to ask me questions down in the comment section of the blog. Nothing really deep, just fun questions that would never get asked in a real interview. Little questions. A flurry of little questions. It's sort of like a machine gun interview.
It turned out to be fun, [...]

An early review and an interview…

I try not to read a reviews of my books. This is one of the things I've learned over the last several years. That ways lies madness.
For the most part, I'm good at not seeking them out. But occasionally my editor or agent brings one to my attention.
This is how I found out that The [...]

Ars Ludi (The Art of the Game)

Things have been good lately.
For four weeks now, I haven't had to meet any deadlines, manage any fundraisers, plan for any holidays, or orchestrate the mailing of thousands of t-shirts.
I have to say, not doing these things has been lovely.
You see, I'm a slacker at heart. A dabbler. A dallier. This shouldn't come as a [...]

Home again, home again, jiggety jig…

I manged to get out of New York just before they got buried in snow. I'm glad for many reasons, but mostly because I really, really missed Oot on my trip. And as cool as it was to see my book in print after all these years, it was much cooler to [...]

The First of Many….

So right now I'm in a hotel in New York.
I've been away from home for about a week. I've gone from a booksigning to a convention, then off to my publisher to do some promotional stuff for book two.
While I was out here, guess what I got to see for the first time?

This is it [...]

Last minute change of plan! Reading changed to 7pm

Hey there everybody, this is Valerie, Pat's assistant. If you don't recognize me, normally I talk like this.
Pat just called me to ask that I post this blog. He left this morning to head to his reading in Petoskey, Michigan. He got on the road later than he intended which would have been ok, but [...]

A question, a picture, a taunt, and a signing.

So when I posted the upcoming tour dates, people asked a bunch of really good questions in the comments of the blog.
Some of the questions were easy to answer. Like this one:

"Will you sign my Kindle?"

Yes.
There. See how easy that was? Good question. Quick answer. Everyone wins.
On the other hand, some questions were harder to [...]

Signed Copies of The Wise Man's Fear

The comments on Wednesday's blog were lovely.  People's enthusiasm was infectious, and I have to say I'm looking forward to the tour even more than I was before.
Right now I am filled with warm, fuzzy feelings. And spring rolls.
Since I announced the tour dates, folks have been asking some really good questions about the tour. [...]
