I'm a native Texan, mother of a large, all-grown family, and I love to spend time reading and writing. I'm also a movie-lover and, yes, I've been known to enjoy TV too! I studied English as an undergrad and in graduate school (great degree for anyone who wants to read a lot of good books!). I worked as an Assistant Librarian in a busy Branch Library where I did the Story Times for children and led the adult Book Club (still do, even though I don't work there any more). I would like to travel and see, first, more of this country and then, after that, who knows? And recently I completed a Master's in Education with a specialty in Reading. I guess it is true-you're never too old to learn!

It helps to get away for a while, maybe take a drive or see a movie, and then go back to your writing refreshed. If that doesn't help, try mind-mapping or some other effective writing technique to trigger your thinking.(less)
Evalyn Fulmer It satisfies the urge/drive to create and it can be accomplished in a comfortable chair with your feet up!

Henry David Thoreau
“The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things..”
Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience and Other Essays

Jane Austen
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Charlotte Brontë
“Do you think I am an automaton? — a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! — I have as much soul as you — and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God's feet, equal — as we are!”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

Ernest Hemingway
“There is no friend as loyal as a book.”
Ernest Hemingway

Nicholas Sparks
“How far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?”
Nicholas Sparks, The Choice

Charles "How To Be Good" is basically a story about what happens in a marriage when one of the partners completely changes their lifestyle. David, the husband, has this complete spiritual transformation, and he starts giving everything they have to the homeless, and it gets crazy, and his wife, Katie, can't handle it. It's really funny. Nick Hornby is my favorite author right now.
