Before my "new system" I would do one of 4 things:
1. take a walk outside
2. take a shower (once when stumped on a difficult chapter, I took 3 showers in one day)
3. change to a different chapter
4. walk away and attack it another day

My present system: Instead of words going from my brain to my computer,
I work the "old fashioned way" and hand write everything on a legal pad. (Either sitting outside or anywhere except my office)
Then I type it. So if writer's block hits while hand writing, I go and type. Then come back.
Works for me. (less)

“From my own experience, I realized that there are many other reasons we procrastinate, starting with fear.”
Rita Emmett, The Procrastinator's Handbook: Mastering the Art of Doing It Now

“The more possessions you have, the more you have to make room for, take care of, protect, sometimes insure, and sometimes worry about losing them to theft, fire, or other catastrophes. Yet when you start to get rid of your unneeded possessions, you can rejoice in a newfound freedom, for you are no longer "owned" by all your possessions.”
Rita Emmett, The Clutter-Busting Handbook: Clean It Up, Clear It Out, and Keep Your Life Clutter-Free

“Everyone deserves to have some caged clutter, to tuck away a few items somewhere, but this is not the same as cramming stuff to the ceiling in the garage,”
Rita Emmett, The Clutter-Busting Handbook: Clean It Up, Clear It Out, and Keep Your Life Clutter-Free
