dark designs review

DD got reviewed by Night Owl Reviews. Here's a peek at what they said :)

I've had to wait a few days before I could write a review for Dark Designs by Luisa Prieto. It has a very intense, graphic and complex storyline that gripped me from the beginning of the book and held me hostage until the end. There were several nail biting and frightening moments in the book that made me fight the urge to get up and turn some lights on in the house.

*sigh*

Makes me want to create business cards that'll rea...

resurfacing

*looks up from behind the computer*

It's already July?! Ack!

Over at Prieto Manor, things have been pretty quiet. I'm still deep in the AD revision (subtitled Is It Done Yet?). My favorite revising pen ran out of ink but I quickly replaced it (it has to be a green pen. Not blue or red, green). I had an idea for a new story but, since I'm still in revision land, I just wrote a scene and some notes and then set it aside. Darian finally succeeded in nudging my tbr books on the desk and has taken t...

logic?!

Your Creative Power is Your Logic

You're the type of person who is great at execution. You don't just dream about ideas - you make them happen!

You are idealistic and determined, but you are also a realist. You only undertake projects you're pretty sure you can finish.

You are a natural problem solver, and you actually think better when you're being challenged.

You do best when you work by yourself or when you're in charge. You ideas are big, dramatic, and the best.

What's Your Creative Power?

upcoming chat

I'll be doing a chat over at Literary Nymphs on Saturday, from 5-8 p.m. eastern time (or 2-5 p.m. western time, for those of us who forget that not everyone is in California time). There'll be excerpts and I'll be giving away a print copy of Dark Designs :)

dark designs review

Jessewave has posted a review for Dark Designs. It's awesome!

I had to wait a full day after finishing Dark Designs before I could attempt this review. The experience of reading it was intense and took me to some seriously dark places, and I wasn't sure at first how I felt about it. Now I know, and the answer is: impressed. Very impressed.

egg foo young kitty

A few months ago, Jen and I came up with this shrimp egg foo young recipe. We tend to only buy shrimp as a treat for our cat, though, so we don't make the dish often (she sees a bag of shrimp enter the house and presumes it's for her. Who are we to deny her?).

I love the recipe, though, so when we want to celebrate something, we buy lots of shrimp. It's a good thing, too; not only does Darian love shrimp, she really loves the smell of cooking shrimp.

It's a yummy recipe. If anyone's curious, he...

cynwolf interlude

The next part of the Dark Designs interludes on my yahoo group. This one deals with Cynwolf, the seductive knight of fire.

Here's a peek:

_Pax magica._

From Rome, the mage Senate snaked into other countries. _Pax magica,_ magic peace, bought them the right to rule whatever they conquered. Mage slaves were a powerful resource, offering them majestic blood sports in the arena, living spell components, breeding stock.

The Darkness watched and the Darkness loved ...

The Darkness liked.
