Coming Soon to Steam, notmycar Closed Beta “Test Drive” Weekend Kicks Off December 8th

December 4, 2018 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – Skybound Entertainment’s publishing arm Skybound Games today announced a new partnership to bring vehicular battle royale game notmycar (www.notmycar.com) to Steam in 2019. notmycar’s Steam “coming soon” page debuts today and includes a bang-up new trailer.

notmycar welcomes players to “Test Drive,” the game’s first-ever closed beta play session this weekend, from noon to midnight PDT on both December 8th and 9th. A select number of test drivers will be notified that they have been chosen to take the game for a spin after signing up at notmycar.com, which they must do before December 7th at 5pm PDT to participate in this weekend’s Test Drive. An FAQ with more detail for players can be found on notmycar.com.

In addition to signing up for the notmycar Test Drive, fans interested in the game should add notmycar to their “wish list” on Steam to be notified of its upcoming launch, as well as sign-up as a Skybound Insider to gain exclusive information about the game’s development.

notmycar drops players onto a massive island battleground where they must outlast the competition to become the last car standing. Players equip their autos with brutal weapons and abilities to brawl in a vehicular battle royale. To win, players will need more than a tight ride – cunning, skill, and an arsenal of strategy is needed at the wheel to win the fast-paced, chaotic, tire squealing mayhem that is notmycar.

“Skybound’s constant goal is to create quality content for our fans and new fans alike,” said Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe. “notmycar is an incredible concept and we’re excited to share this Test Drive with our community. SKYBOUND BOOKS ANNOUNCES NEW SLATE INCLUDING A NEW THE WALKING DEAD NOVEL

November 30, 2018 (Los Angeles, CA) – Skybound Books, the co-publishing imprint formed by Skybound Entertainment and Atria Books/Simon & Schuster, Inc., today announced seven new novels to be published through 2020; The Walking Dead: Typhoon, Every Sky a Grave, Instinct, The Down Days, and The First Sister Trilogy. Skybound Books holds ancillary rights to both Instinct and The Down Days and have the option to expand the properties across entertainment platforms such as film, television, games, and merchandise.

Details on the new books are below:

· The Walking Dead: Typhoon by Wesley Chu: The Walking Dead’s first foray into China follows a group of survivors banding together against a wave of walkers in the most populous country in the world. Fans can expect author Wesley Chu (The Lives of Tao, Time Salvager) to bring a fresh perspective on societal decay and decomposing flesh to the world of Robert Kirkman’s bestselling comics series.

· Every Sky a Grave by Jay Posey: A high-flying, sci-fi adventure about a planetary assassin armed with the mystical Language of the Universe. Elyth can pass unseen, influence people’s minds, and even destroy an entire planet using the Language. But when a new threat emerges, wielding the Language in impossible ways, Elyth faces her most incredible mission yet.

· Instinct by Jason M. Hough: In a small town full of dark secrets and wild conspiracy theories, the lone sheriff struggles to trust her own instincts as she investigates why the people around her are dying in increasingly bizarre ways.

· The Down Days by Ilze Hugo: The South African author’s magical-realist debut follows a woman who must recover a kidnapped child in a city gripped by a deadly laughter epidemic.

· The First Sister Trilogy by Linden Lewis: This debut series is a sprawling sci-fi epic about a soldier questioning his allegiances, a comfort woman claiming her agency, and a nonbinary badass out to save the solar system. These three individuals from extremely different backgrounds will have to come together to protect humanity from itself.

Previously released titles from Skybound Books include The Quotable Negan by Robert Kirkman and The Electric State by Simon Stålenhag. The next slate expands the imprint’s genre work across science fiction, fantasy, and horror.

Both Games will be Demoed for the First Time at PAX Unplugged

 

Multiplatform entertainment company Skybound Entertainment will demo The Walking Dead: Something to Fear and Valor & Villainy: Minions of Mordak for the first time ever at PAX Unplugged (Philadelphia, PA November 30 – December 2, 2018). Attendees of the event will be able to demo both games at the Skybound Games booth, #2349.

The Walking Dead: Something to Fear is a 2-5 person competitive card game where players must form uneasy alliances and work together to survive while competing to secure their own position in the group. The game was designed by Derek and Lizzy Funkhouser, with art by Justin Chan. It is set for a retail release in Q1 of 2019.

Valor & Villainy: Minions of Mordak is a 2-6 player roleplaying board game where one player plays as the evil wizard Mordak, while the rest form an alliance of heroes who must stop the scheming wizard. Each game is different due to a random board, minions, and spells. James Van Niekerk designed and illustrated the game, which will be available to back on Kickstarter in Q1 of 2019.

Also new from Skybound Games is Pitchstorm, a party game about pitching movie ideas to the world’s worst film executives (aka: your friends). The game is available now on Skybound.com (HERE).

We’re thrilled to announce that we have partnered with Entertainment One (eOne) to bring you a new pre-apocalyptic international TV series called “5 Year,” which will follow people across the globe in the final five years before a deadly meteor is set to wipe out Earth. Each year will be represented in a season and follow unique characters across the globe along the same timeline.

Entertainment One will Finance and Distribute the Series Across Various Markets

November 27, 2018 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – Skybound Entertainment and Entertainment One (eOne) today announced a new partnership to finance, produce and distribute 5 Year, a pre-apocalyptic concept from Robert Kirkman. eOne and Skybound will co-produce the series’ while eOne will serve as financier and distributor.

From an original idea from Robert Kirkman, 5 Year’s different series will focus on how people across the globe choose to live after learning the world will end in the next five years, as a meteor rushes towards Earth. Each year will play out as a season, and while each version will have its own unique characters and stories, they will all follow the same timeline. Each version of 5 Year will be a localized story set in the markets’ actual location and produced in local languages.

The Skybound and eOne partnership includes previously announced 5 Year series’ set in Latin America with producers Mixer and 360 Powwow, and in Korea with streaming service Viki. The deal also covers 5 Year series currently in the works in Italy, Germany, Russia, China, UK and more.

“This is one of the most ambitious projects we’ve worked on, and also one of the most rewarding. Our work with all our partners around the globe continues to inspire our vision for this series and our commitment and passion for global storytelling. 5 Year is a fundamentally human story, meant to explore humanity’s capacity for good and evil in the face of the ultimate threat. eOne is a world class producer and distributor of television and they share our vision and ambition for this huge undertaking.
