Why not Women?
Women can shoot guns, they can swing a blunt object, and they are generally very smart. Yet in the horror genre they are often portrayed as little more than cannon fodder for the villain so he can rack up an impressive body count.
I find that personally offensive and professionally boring. It's why I wrote almost every main character in my debut work as a female.
I wanted my female characters to be able to kill zombies with their bare hands if necessary. I wanted women operating 50 caliber machine guns mounted on Humvee's obliterating huge swaths of the oncoming zombie hordes. Women operating the drone strikes reigning death down upon the shambling mass of zombies.
And I did this because I wanted to read a different kind of horror story. I wanted to turn every cliché inside out and upside down. I wanted a zombie story that had a beginning middle and end. I wanted a horror story that portrayed women as people, not things to be violently ripped apart.
I wanted a story with emotional resonance instead of a body count.
So while every single "zombie" author out there will say "Hey my zombie apocalypse is different from everyone else's."
I will not say that. I will simply say.
Please sample my book, my imagination and perspective is different from everyone else's. I hope you enjoy my nightmare :-)

Pen Name
I use the pen name Pochassic for a simple reason. When I wrote under my actual name I wasn't being honest with myself as a writer or you as a reader. I was holding back, not wanting to go to certain places in my mind. I could feel it when I would read the work back months later, I just didn't like it.
So I decided to pull a Batman and get a secret identity, and low and behold I started "going there" with my writing. Flesh Without Soul is the result I hope you enjoy
