Beverly Cleary fan girl
The other day, I saw an ad saying that soon there's going to be a movie version of Ramona and Beezus by Beverly Cleary. And I was like, "Whaaaattt?" Because until that moment, I had totally forgotten those books existed. I don't think I've thought about them in, I dunno, maybe 20 years. And that's just crazy talk because those were some of my very favorite books when I was young, and I was kind of shocked that something like that could just disappear from my head. I mean, a lot of things dis...

Press conference
Okay, before I get going, I need to get something out of the way that's been causing an international frenzy. Maybe frenzy is too strong a word. Let's go with international confusion. If you live in the U.S. and have been chatting with someone from Australia about Spirit Bound, you may have noticed something peculiar. The American copy of SB names Sonya's guardian/lover as Mikhail Tanner. The Australian (and UK and who knows what else) edition names him as Tomas Sanders.

Iron Crowned and More!
A few new pieces of info today. First up, for those Eugenie fans who have been so patient (and will have to continue to be patient, alas), I have the back cover of Iron Crowned for you. I've actually had it for a while. I just forgot to post it. Kensington, knowing how paranoid I am about spoilers, did a pretty great job of tantalizing without giving too much away! But, as you can see, it does involve an iron crown:

Back!
Just a quick note to tell everyone I'm back in Seattle! I have a tendency to not blog when I get home, sort of leaving you all hanging. But I had a safe flight back on Thursday and am getting settled back into my home routine. Thanks again for a great tour and for everyone else's support with Spirit Bound!

Spirit Bound Tour Day 9: More amazing news. Also, pirates.
Well, if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you've probably already heard me shout it from the rooftops: we have some big news today about Spirit Bound. On Monday, we found out that it had hit #1 on the USA Today bestseller list. Today, we found out that it made #1 on Australia's bestseller list and #1 on the New York Times series bestseller list. You guys. That is insane. You have no idea how unreal it all feels, and really, I can't keep doing anything except thanking all of my readers. ...

Spirit Bound Day 8: Two posts for the price of one
Okay, no time to waste! I'm behind on a signing recap! So let's get it to it before my fast-approaching bedtime.
YESTERDAY - MADISON, CT
As mentioned, my publicist Casey McIntyre and I took the train to Connecticut for a fantastic signing put on by RJ Julia Booksellers at Arts Barn. Connecticut was everything quaint and beautiful that I expected it to be, and we had this crowd turn out to hear me speak...

SB Tour Day 7: Big news, small pictures
Okay, no pictures at all. I know, I know. This is a first on this tour, but I'm too tired and have to get up too early to edit and post pictures tonight. Believe me, I have some good ones too. I signed in Madison, CT tonight, where I was met by a fantastic store and venue and a really amazing group of readers. My publicist Casey made the 4-hour roundtrip with me and got some great shots with my camera, but like I said...too tired right now. I'll try to put them up tomorrow, for real.

SB Tour Day 6: What did Della wear?
Some of you may recall me saying yesterday that I had an epic journey in store today to Delaware. I made that comment because I had a super early flight from Mobile to Charlotte, a connection from Charlotte to Philadelphia, and then a drive from Philadelphia to Newark, DE in order to get to my signing--with no hotel in there to get ready at. That makes for a rough day.
Except, compared to the reality, that would have been an easy day.
Here's what happened. I woke up at 4:15am in order to leave ...

SB Tour Day 5: Southern comfort
This morning I had to say farewell to this unbelievable hotel view...

...and hello to an epic 8 hour journey that took me down to the Gulf Coast region of the U.S., specifically Mobile, Alabama. I never get more than 6 hours of sleep a night on tour, so the first leg of my journey (St. Louis-Houston) was spent sleeping in the arms of Xanax. I caffeinated up in the Houston airport, though, knowing I had to be in peak shape when I landed in Mobile. Because when I finally did, I only had an hour ...

SB Tour Day 4: Archtastic
I never thought I'd say this, but Southwest might be my next favorite airline after Alaska--though Alaska still wins by leaps and bounds. I'd never flown Southwest until this trip, and each flight has been really efficient. They're like the bus of airlines. They fly from city to city, let some people off, let some on, and off they go. Their staff is nice too and almost as wacky as Alaska's.
While descending into St. Louis today, one of the Southwest attendants announced, "Ladies and gentlemen,...
