A Purpose
From times immemorial, since the ascent of life, man, as we know, has longed for concrete knowledge and power for himself. Knowledge that would satisfy his own unyielding curiosity and power that would couple with knowledge opening many possibilities, some simple and some formidable. One would not be misguided perhaps to sum up that these acquisitions, over time, were more to assert his presence on this terra firma, rather than research about its unending revelations.
Nonetheless, man did stumble upon a right path once, and continued gracefully with its positive and sincere depth. And what with the gifts of nature that man deservedly or otherwise was granted, providence ensured that it allowed man to delve deep into the path of life. Gifts such as Science and Religion, with their own beautiful intricacies, which opened the box of knowledge and power even further.
But it was not to be, for man discovered another unique element inside himself which worked for his own good as well as his evil, as man would learn over the age of its treachery. This element was his mind, which falters unceasingly, swinging like a pendulum towards either good and evil, malcontent-wrought. And with the tilt of mind slowly favoring evil, the thin line of innocent discovery failed.
Today, Science and Religion instead of complimenting each other to possibly understand universes, find themselves on a flimsy altar which man created, where he has placed them to be chosen among by its representatives called leaders.
One cannot help but agree that such turn of disturbing events has prompted us to finally face the question we have been running away from for eternities now, the question being-What then is the purpose of man?
Man has tried to understand himself and his nature, to the best of his abilities, whether or not it has worked for him and whether or not he has succeeded or failed. And since man is a part of nature, the quest, it would seem, remains singly directed, for in understanding Nature lies his first step towards assessing what he is doing here and in understanding himself lies the secret of life.
But for the distractions of his mind, which have led to some appalling discoveries, man has for the better part, made many minor breakthroughs in his quest to find out his purpose in this vast universe.

Geographically Yours!
There are three kinds of people in your life. The first kind are those who are all words and actions but show very little sentiment towards you and your life. The second kind are those who will be loud in their affection and love for you and who can excite you visibly, but invariably confuse you sometimes as well. And the third kind are those who will only give you fleeting evidence of the importance you hold in their lives.
Now, the first two kinds are as clear as can be on the surface. There is no unexplored depth in their characteristics. The third kind, however, are papayas outside and mangoes inside. The fleetingness of their empathy is double-fold when explored. It is then that you realise how much they hold you in their lives.

During Sumeet’s later schooling days, from eighth grade onwards, there was an apparent passion for the language of English and its verbatim in him that only increased with his participation in debating, stage competitions and other events. And what started out in tenth grade as a mere string of words put together to make a poem for his favourite cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, then sparked in him the desire to pursue writing as a hobby. The positive reactions of his classmates and family to his verses encouraged him to another level that showed him what his potential in writing could be. These events were followed by times which ticked with him writing poems for his friends on their birthdays and for his teachers on occasions, as well.
After his schooling culminated, Sumeet set out to seriously form his own collection of poetry which he knew someday he would get to show to the world. There were people who encouraged such a passion and there were some who questioned the interest of people in poetry these days. But that didn’t bog him down. He kept writing and writing, on every aspect of everything he saw in life. What followed was a period full of ups and downs in which he submitted his best compositions to newspapers, dailies and magazines, only to get rejected or not get any reply at all from them, whereas his friends and family largely appreciated his work. In fact, by now, his friends and family urged him to publish his compositions through some medium. But, Sumeet tried all avenues possible. And finally, he resigned to let the opportunity present itself.
And it did present itself. Sumeet came across a self-publishing imprint of publishing giant-Penguin Random House called Partridge Publishing, which accepted unsolicited works from all authors. So, he contacted them and submitted his manuscript for evaluation. His content was approved for the quality and was accepted for publication. The collection was titled ‘The Tide Of The Pensieve’ and was released on all online portals like Amazon, Amazon India, Barnes and Noble, Ingram, Flipkart and many more.
The first set of copies were released on 4th December 2015 on Amazon.com. And the Indian version was released on 12th December 2015 on Amazon.in. After a month of its release, Sumeet’s book was assessed for its content quality and flair and was approved thereafter, for being nominated for presentation at 5 International Conferences. Also, the book flew to the top of Indian Poetry Bestsellers charts on Amazon India with its highest rank being #19.
With positive reviews flying down to Chennai from all friends and relatives and well wishers across the country, Sumeet knew his career as a writer had begun. Till now, he had only tried his hand at poetry, as that about summed up his comfort zone. But Sumeet also liked the concept of short stories and short fiction and realized that a writer had to write out of his comfort zone to attract new reader and ideas. He also knew that fiction had more powers to attract in today’s age. So he started work on two young adult novels last year which he completed recently.
Today, we are quite excited to share that the editorial teams of various well known publishers have given their feedback on his script and basically, they have given the green signal for his first story Novel to be published and distributed. They like the concept and story of his script. For now, the Proof reading and editing phase has begun.
Coming Soon!
