Cameron W. Kobes was born in a dusty little town called Toppenish, Washington, in the western regions of a broad land called the United States of America. He lived on a farm, spending endless hours herding cattle and hauling hay, finding escape through distance running and fantasy novels, until he moved into the rainy forests of Tacoma, Washington to attend Pacific Lutheran University.

He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2015, with a bachelor’s degree in English and minors in Philosophy and Religion. Those minors are not especially helpful on a resume, but the author believes that in an ideal world everybody would study the things that interest them, and he has labored to be the change he wants to see in the world.

“But Cynings isn’t the only country in the world, is it? Don’t be so narrow-minded. Don’t be content to stay at the base of the tree. Go to the top and see a wider view.”
Cameron W. Kobes, Tales of Cynings Volume I

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
Frank Herbert, Dune
