Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney

Daisy DarkerDaisy Darker by Alice Feeney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Maybe I was too distracted by the beautiful one-liners and amazing prose, but I totally did not see the plot twist coming.

Also, I might not have read it if someone told me the plot twist but I encourage you to try anyway. It’s worth it.

A few I highlighted:

Emotional blows leave invisible bruises that can hurt just as much as the physical variety.

The second time I died was exactly five years after I was born.

My mother used to button up her ...

The Maid by Nita Prose

The MaidThe Maid by Nita Prose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well deserved winner of the 2022 Goodreads Choice Awards!!

I love books with quirky characters and a full cast of loveable friends who help! This is not a cozy mystery, but some people might categorize it as such. Instead, it’s a mystery with a few quirky characters thrust into very real danger and dark situations. It’s a fairly clean read with the exception of some swearing, minor blood, and a few dark moments.

These are the type of books I love be...

A Cry from the Dust by Carrie Stuart Parks

A Cry from the Dust (Gwen Marcey #1)A Cry from the Dust by Carrie Stuart Parks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Look… I finished this book in one day because it was simply that good! I had to clean my house for a party, so I popped in my headphones and picked this audiobook because it was rated one of the best in Christian Suspense. Now I can see why! It’s everything I love in a book!

Gwen has so many challenges in her life and it truly adds to the suspense of the story. I fell in love with the main character, Gwen, and I can’t wait to rea...

The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham

The Boys from BiloxiThe Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham

John Grisham is a wonderful storyteller, no doubt about it. In a world full of deep point of view (POV), he’s not afraid to venture into the omniscient. The book spans generations, bringing the reader through good times and bad times for many characters, so strap in. I believe my heart would have been crushed completely if the book were written in a deep POV, so thanks for sparing me the heartache.

Knock-Knock Jokes for Kids by Rob Elliott

Knock-Knock Jokes for KidsKnock-Knock Jokes for Kids by Rob Elliott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I bought this to read with my 5 year old niece over Christmas. She’s a nut for knock-knock jokes and this book totally occupied her while her mom made Christmas cookies and peppermint bark and put them in tiny little boxes to deliver to the entire neighborhood. To keep the attention of a 5 year old that long…well this book is worth every star I can muster. Bonus, it’s adorable to hear her learning and repeating these corny jokes.

Allegiance by Lisa Phillips

Allegiance (Benson First Responders, #1)Allegiance by Lisa Phillips

My library didn’t have this in audiobook (gasp!) so I recommended they purchase it. To my horror, ten people jumped ahead of me to read it! Good thing I purchased the kindle book too! I did listen to the audio and it was worth the wait. Having someone read to me is so much better than when I read to myself. And like always, Lisa Phillips did not disappoint. Just when you think you know what’s happening 💥BAM💥 she throws a twist at you. Eagerly awaiting the next book in t...

Wolf Hollow by Victoria Houston

Wolf Hollow (Lew Ferris #1)Wolf Hollow by Victoria Houston

I don’t know what it is about this book but I fell in love. The downside is, now I want to be a fly fisherman and I’m nowhere near coordinated enough for that. I’d also like to be the Sheriff of a small town but see the aforementioned coordination limitation. The worst part is, I absolutely can’t wait for the next book in this series but I’ll have to. 😭 Well, maybe I can email Victoria and we’ll become best friends and she’ll not only let me be an early reader but ...

Grey’s Tesla

Inspiration for Grey's Tesla in Driving Force by Kate Angelo and Lynette EasonIn my book Driving Force, veteran Grey Parker is forced to use a wheelchair after encountering a nerve agent during a mission. I started to consider what life would look like for Grey for day-to-day living, especially basic tasks like getting into his car. My husband sent this video where Cambry explains why the Tesla X was a great choice for her needs and the idea blossomed from there.

A bit more research showed fabrications of a robotic arm that could lift the wheelchair into the Tesla rather ...

A Peek Inside My Office

Kate Angelo - A photo of my desk numbered with a description

My office is nothing spectacular, but I’ve been asked by a few people how I get my video to look so good in live interviews, so I’m sharing a bit about my desk setup. If you haven’t seen any of those live interviews, head on over to my press kit page and check out the links to some of them!

For me, this whole desk setup has been a game-changer! I’ve scoured th...

Monday Motivation

Monday Motivation

I have a friend going through a health journey, and some days she texts me to say that she doesn’t feel like going to the gym today. 😑 Later that evening I see her IG post with a video of her rocking it at the gym! 💪🏼 I don’t think she’s the impact the way I do, but she’s really making a big change for the better. 😍

Developing wise habits can start SMALL, but ultimately the impact will be HUGE.

This is true for MORE than reaching your health goals, my friend.

Want to write that novel? 👉🏼 Make it a pr...
