I write in the nuclear-based thriller genre because I have nearly fifty years of work experience in various nuclear related technologies. My first assignment, at nineteen, for the U.S. Army, was as a nuclear weapons electronics technician. In 2012, I retired as a senior member of the science and engineering staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Washington State.
While I do infuse my nuclear resume into my stories, I also base my stories on real events and real people. I based The Defect on the nuclear accident at Three Mile Island NPS in Pennsylvania, and on an attack at the Watts Bar NPS by a lone gunman.

If I'm having trouble writing a section, I switch to another section somewhere else in the book or to another book altogether. I then insert my cursor to the appropriate spot and keep on writing.(less)
