Strange though it might seem, my first published work was non-fiction. I did a handful of essays for The Heinlein Journal and a short examination of the Giles/Spike relationship on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I can still remember getting that comp copy of the Journal in the mail and seeing my words in print for the first time.
Nothing like it. Then I discovered the Journal is archived by the Bodleian in Oxford and might have hyperventilated slightly...
