Gerald Stevens grew up in central Florida, alternating his time between mosquitoes, sunburn, and all things juvenile. The allure of higher and drier environs drew him to New Mexico, where he earned a degree in civil engineering. He spent the next thirty-five years with a federal land & resource management agency, working in various regions of the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and Rocky Mountains. Though writing has been a long-held passion of his, so were eating and sleeping with a roof over his head —so engineering it was. But contrary to the counsel of every fortune cookie, tea leaf interpreter, and brutally honest friend he’d ever encountered, he never abandoned his dream. Hopefully you won’t, either!
