Cornwall, reading … and pillows.
My third guest post was on the wonderful With Love For Books blog. To read their review of THE THIEF’S DAUGHTER and our subsequent chat click HERE. Anniek’s searching, but fun questions, made me come to the conclusion that pillows feature heavily in my writing life!
Life before Choc Lit.
The second guest slot on my blog tour involved drinking cappuccinos and eating chocolate cookies with novelist, journalist and creative writing teacher Margaret James. We chatted about my life before Choc Lit, which involved chickens …

Inspiration & Writing Habits
Tomorrow is a special day for me as The Thief’s Daughter will finally be published on all eBook platforms. Preparations for the big day have kept me busy for a while, however I have still found time to drop in on friend and fellow Choc Lit author, Morton S.Gray, for a coffee, a chat and a few searching questions about my writing habits and the inspiration for The Thief’s Daughter. Why not pop over to her blog and read the full interview by clicking HERE

Musings and opportunities when you have a glass in your hand.
I am delighted to share the news that I have become a regular poster on the collaborative blog, Novel Points Of View. It is an amazing blog, made up of six writers and a talented photographer, who share their thoughts on all things to do with writing, reading, creativity – and anything else that might loosely be linked to a ‘point of view’. A wide scope for interesting musings on a wide range of topics, don’t you think?
My first post was today, New Year’s Eve. Hmmm … what shall I talk about and how did I become involved?

London … here I come!
I have just returned from a whirlwind trip to London, where I had the opportunity to meet other members of the Choc Lit team who help make the independent publisher so successful in women’s fiction. Many of them were fellow authors who I had come to know in the virtual world of the internet, so it was great to meet them face-to-face for the first time and chat without having to type the words first.
The Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Winter Party and Industry Awards followed shortly afterwards. Authors of romantic fiction came from far and wide to meet …old friends, make new ones and celebrate. The awards presented were in recognition of those people who have made a significant contribution to the success and sales of romantic fiction. The winners were as follows:-
Agent of the Year was awarded posthumously to Carole Blake, of Blake Friedmann, whose sudden death in October shocked the book industry.
Bookseller of the Year went to Goldsboro Books’ Managing Director, David Headley
The Media Star was presented to Kim Nash, Publicity and Social Media Manager at Bookouture
Best Adaptation of a Novel was awarded to Jojo Moyes for the film Me Before You
Publisher of the Year was won by Oliver Rhodes, Managing Director and Publisher, Bookouture.

Getting ready to go out!

Just arrived!
However, for me the trip was about meeting the Choc Lit team, making new friends, catching up with old ones and building a stash of fond memories. Although how long those memories will last can be anyone’s guess as my memory can be rather shocking at times … particularly when I have enjoyed a few glasses of wine as I did at the R.N.A. Winter party.
