It's Lone Star Literary Blog Tour Time!
Comfort Songs has been sitting on the Too-Be-Read stacks for Lone Star Literary bloggers this month, and the reviews are about to roll out. Am I nervous? Of course.
I value the time a blogger invests in my book, and I know that they'll give an honest review. And that's what authors are seeking--even if the feedback is painful.
That's the biggest risk few discuss in book world--that some books fail to resonate with readers. I'm one of those authors that seeks to entertain readers, so finding out if the plot, pacing, and characters live up to their expectations is paramount. The proof of that ... reviews.
So, my nails may be bit frayed these next two weeks as I wait for the posts on GoodReads, Amazon, FB, Twitter, and my author page, Kimberly Fish, author; but the analysis will be priceless.
Hope you'll take a risk on new authors too. There's so much power and freshness on the market these days, and it's my hope that good books rise to the top--maybe it will be yours.

Comfort Songs WINS BIG at 2019 Bloggers Choice Awards
To my astonishment, the Texas Hill Country fiction, Comfort Songs, took BIG prizes at the 2019 Bloggers Choice Awards from Lone Star Literary. WOW!! It won Best Texas Book, Best Romance, and runner-up for Best Cover. For a novel about a woman discovering her grit--this is good news!!
Family dysfunction, lavender farming, friend groups, and an unexpected romance are the surprises that fill the pages of Comfort Songs, and perfectly set the runway for the fall debut of Comfort Foods--third book in the series set in Comfort, Texas. Find them all at www.kimberlyfish.com or look for them on Amazon.
I hope you'll discover they're worthy of your reading time, and maybe you'll enjoy a mental vacation in a season when we need some good stories.

Election Recovery Prescription
I predict we're all stressed from the election process. There have been a lot of words thrown about and many were not kind. So, I recommend a healthy dose of fiction to cure the blues and reds. Chicken soup for the soul? My new novel, Comfort Foods, is one of many that have been brought to the book market this month and, like so many others, offer a few hours in an imagined world as an antidote for what puzzles us about our future.
I hope you, dear readers, can return to your bookshelf of beloved favorites or new books, and find the comfort you need to recharge your mental and emotional batteries. Thanks for supporting authors of all stripes as readers and authors work together in this process of informing and entertaining each other.
May you have a mental vacation since it's unlikely we can travel farther than our armchairs these days.

Comfort Songs Wins Again!!
Wow--another shiny award for a story of second-chances and reconciliations. The three generations of women in this story have tangled roots and finding a way to live together is complicated. But with this award from Independent Authors Network, I'm hopeful that readers relate to the characters in Comfort Songs and enjoy the plot of personal grit, forgiveness, a second-chance romance, and a new way forward--and find the pages to be rewarding.
If you've read Comfort Songs let me know your thoughts, and if not, then I hope you'll move it to your "To Be Read" stack and enjoy it this fall.
I so enjoyed the imaginary folks I've placed in the very real town of Comfort, Texas, that I hope the new novel, Comfort Foods, does as well as the first two books. Happy Sunday, dear readers!

Heading to Comfort with Books
It's my favorite time of year to travel and this time I'm taking books to one of my favorite spots! I must be living the dream--or making very good use of an itinerary that included San Antonio. We're heading down for a wedding and along the way will make some stops for pleasure--Hello, Magnolia!--and then scooting in to meet readers and friends at The Twig Bookshop in the Pearl District of San Antonio. This is such a fascinating location because it's the kind of redevelopment project that makes beautiful use of an iconic structure (the Pearl Beer Brewing Company) and modernizes a space for contemporary purposes (like restaurants, apartments, shops, and bookstores!) I'm returning to The Twig, and grateful they've carried my books over the years.
Saturday we're heading into the Hill Country with books to share with the folks at the 8th Street Market in Comfort, Texas. The ladies that began this home style shop were in our church small group when we were at Castle Hills FBC thirty years ago, and now they have this thriving business that draws folks off the interstate to linger in the small town that time forgot. I'll post photos to my IG page fish_writer and hope you'll follow along as Comfort Foods and the other Comfort based novels take a road trip.
