30-day trial, Day 20/30: Angel Power Compendium Illustration #2

I was so damn insecure about making this picture, but I like how it turned out despite its several problems. All the background is rocky, but painting rocks with watercolors is quite hard (in fact, hard is what they don't look like). I will work on this pic more for the compendium.

So... second Angel Power Compendium illustration! This one is about angels' healing magic. I was wondering if to draw Mayii (who uses the most healing magic in the first novel) or Archie (who uses the most healing magic all through the books). I decided for Archie, since not only he'll eventually use more magic, but being a black-winged, his magic is actually way more powerful AND genuine (while Archie can heal with his sheer power, Mayii, being a quartarian, can only extract the life force of her "patient" and use it to heal them).

So 20 days, 10 to go!

Also... look forward to the next illustration in the Compendium, my favorite one, and the least "angelic" of the angel powers. Just two words: Day 9.

The specifics:

•Time taken: Five hours... I think? Could have been less.
•Media used: Watercolor pencils with some pencil and yellow pen. Warm white 75 grams watercolor paper.
•30-day trial: Day 20/30, July 24th 2018
•Technical notes to myself: How do you pain rocks with watercolor? Maybe using salt would be good?

30-day trial, Day 22/30: Angel Power Compendium Illustration #3

Today's pic is about Day 9 and the magic Sween uses then (also, how she looks when she does). I guess I'll call it 'hellfire magic' for now, since Sween pretty much improvises it. This kind of magic is forbidden and it is only accesible to angels when they give up their premises of "being good" completely. As you know, it's very powerful and can cook up a demon in seconds. As you can tell, it's not something they use everyday and really questions their "good" alignment.

This pic can and shall use more work, but it was quite hard to make. I needed to draw the face four times to get it right. It took me two days, after all.

The specifics:

•Time taken: I was a lot... eight hours, I think.

•Media used: Watercolor pencils with some pencil. Warm white 75 grams watercolor paper.

•30-day trial: Day 21 and 22/30, July 25 and 26th 2018
