Life's Too Short . . .
. . . to drink mediocre wine, to use flimsy toilet paper, or to force myself to finish reading books that have become tedious and uninteresting to me.
I find lately that my "Did Not Finish" category on Goodreads is growing! As soon as I feel as if continuing to read a book I've started is a chore that I must finish, I give myself the gift of liberation. Yes, I give it a chance and don't set it aside until I have read quite a few chapters. There are so many wonderful books to be read and so little time!
Of course, like you, I am always on the hunt for my next Good Read! Here are a few of my all-time favorites for you to consider if you have not already discovered them:

What is a "New Thought Christian?"
The Body of Christ consists of many parts, doesn't it? All one need do is think of the many different denominations and sects of Christianity that have developed throughout history and that exist today.
New Thought (also Higher Thought) is an American spiritual movement with roots in Classical Metaphysics, Transcendentalism, and Deism that coalesced in the 19th Century. The movement was launched in large part by the writings and lectures of Phineas Quimby and Emma Curtis Hopkins.
Central to New Thought are practices of mind power, positive thinking, affirmations and denials, affirmative prayer, co-creating with God, the law of attraction, creative visualization, spiritual healing treatments, and prosperity principles.
Some of the well-known churches and spiritual organizations that had their inception in the New Thought Movement are: Religious Science (Science of Mind), Divine Science, Jewish Science, Christian Science, Unity, Centers for Spiritual Living, International New Thought Alliance, and Christian libertarianism (as epitomized by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale).
For New Thought Christians, our Elder Brother and Wayshower, Jesus Christ, is our model and the example of indwelling Divinity realized and fully expressed in human form. The Christ is that spark of Divinity within each of us as creations and extensions of The Source—God. The resurrected Jesus Christ is the promise of victory over our sense of separation from God—death—and thereby our salvation, in this life and the next. Through prayer, we bring our Christ nature—our connection with God—into conscious awareness.
The goal of Little Book of Prayers for New Thought Christians is that it will elicit in you the reader a mystical experience of GOD, and you will be reminded of the Truth of your Being. Be Blessed!

"Currently Reading"
Don't most of us readers have a variety of books at various stages of completion on our nightstands and side tables, on our Kindles, Audible accounts, and Audio CD sets? I always do. Somehow my mind is able to keep track. "Currently" I am enjoying two fiction novels-- Gilead on Audio CDs and The Girl at the Lion d'Or in paperback--and a half dozen non-fiction books in a variety of formats. And I'm always looking for the next one to add to the collection.
