Merry Christmas!
If you see this this post can I get a 'like' or even a share please.
This one is 99c on a kindle count down deal for the next 24 hours or so, before the price begins to go back up in increments over the coming week.
6-in-1 high fantasy boxset... Multiple story lines... deep plots... diverse characters... epic world building... everything to fight for... And not a lot of time...
This is a slow burn, unusual read! Are you up for the challenge?😁

When you know your mother is bad but the aunt is worse...
"I was vaguely aware, of course, of my late mother’s kinship with said Queen Ishjah but I didn’t want to think about that. My mother had only been a Duchess and that had spelt trouble aplenty for me. What would not a Queen spell?"
Excerpt from Solancei's Memoirs - From 'The Lure of an Ancient Fable', Episode 7 of The Missing Shield.

NOW ON YouTube!!
You guys...my little piece of romantic fantasy flash fiction "The Genie and The Grim Trap" has made if further than I'd ever believed or intended. How fab to have the amazing Kevin Porter narrate this - his voice is exquisite and really brings the story to life.
Thank you to both Ann Burgess and Kevin for all your support and hard work - I'm blown away x 1000!
PS - if you pop on over for a listen, please give it a thumbs up or leave a comment. Kev and Ann deserve some love for this!
You can listen now for free.
NB Also, I am thinking of writing the full story as a stand-alone book so feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm tired of the scammers and the pirates and the haters - hence this statement...
I would love to send a more positive message to the world, but this week takes the biscuit.
You don't like my books, my style, my prose, my covers? Want to act the troll, ridicule it, slap me round the face with your sad, cutting comments? Well tough s**t, as they say. You're entitled to your opinion, so what? Heave at it if you have nothing better to do.
I know I've made rookie mistakes - but authorhood is a learning curve. I know more now than when I first published in 2018, but my choices were and will be guided by the fact that I am an unemployed indie writer with bills to pay and kids to feed.
Sorry, but 'NOT SORRY' - The Missing Shield is a shot in the dark: my trying something a bit different because... well, why the heck not?
I have made sure that the books are professionally edited - if you have a copy and you find problems with it, please update your Kindle, as chances are you might still have an older version.
As for contents...I have made no promises. You will either get it or not; you will either love it or hate it. If you don't like details, deep character-led plots, or if you consider purple prose second rate, then chances are you will not enjoy TMS.
Surprise, surprise...
I'm an adult. I appreciate objective respectful feedback (whether you like my writing or not) so let' take it from there.
Oh and before I forget... DO NOT use the following site to get your free books https://inamebooks.com/ - at worst they are pirates - at best phishing.
Have a great week.

Celebrating an amazing new 5* Amazon review of The Missing Shield, Part 1...
"The Gods are battling, and Princess Iambre is on a quest to save her friend. Everyone is desperate to do just one thing: survive. The question is, who will make it out of the war alive and who will be just another causality?
Such an epic quest. With six novels and over 1,000 pages in this beauty, there’s plenty of something for everyone. Romance, Adventure, Mystery, Intrigue, Suspense, Paranormal. It’s all in this collection. Not to mention fantasy.
With multiple storylines and beautiful landscapes, it’s easy to become immersed in this wonderful tale. Out of the two storylines, my favorite revolved around Princess Iambre and her quest to save her friend. There were so many raw emotions between the two of them that made reading about them extra special.
If you’re looking for a good read that will entertain you for some time, look no further. This collection should be on every epic fantasy reader’s “must read” list."

Praise for The Missing Shield -
"Having built a complex, fantastical setting for the story, writer LL Thomsen effortlessly transports the reader there. The shimmering heat of the desert, the fetid smell of the dungeon and the dreaminess of a truth drug are all beautifully described. So are the characters' emotions. Their very lives are invested in their goals..."
5* review by London Lass (reader on Amazon)

"I love the writing style of this author, almost poetic and beautiful. Imagery is used carefully. The story is told from different POV's. The move from one to another actually creates more suspense and keeps the reader on his/her toes. An enthralling fantasy."

EXCERPT -
Turning towards him, Solancei squared her shoulders, making her movements deliberate and slow so as to convey her peaceful intentions without any margin for error. Simaro cocked an eyebrow in interest, but when she made to lower her practice sword in outright surrender, he flashed her a look of spurious disappointment.
“Don’t even think about it, grey-eyes! Not if you value your health.” Somewhere between chilling contempt and prayer, the low-pitched warning forestalled her action, and as though someone had just wound up the twine of an already tightly-cocked ballista just one notch further, she felt the tension quiver all around them. The ache in her jaw where his fingers had dug-in to push her against the wall hard enough to bruise, seemed to throb in line with the returning-ache in her head; a sudden icy weariness penetrated her bones, tightly followed by a sense of resignation that couldn’t be soothed.
What was it he’d said earlier? His game, his rules? Well indeed!
She was no soothsayer but there was no way in the Void this was going to stay low profile. Klaas be damned: no way!

ARCs Wanted!!
Happy 2020 - tomorrow begins the Year of the Rat, which promises to be an extremely kind year for authors all around, and - being a rat myself - something I intend to take full advantage of!
To this end I have decided to give The Missing Shield a complete and fantastic overhaul to publish the book in the format it was originally intended - including a new amazing cover by concept artist Aleksandra Klepacka, a professional edit by ReVise Editing, as well as a much-needed map!
The book will go on pre-sale mid-March and release mid-April, so here's the deal... I'm looking for ARC readers for this high fantasy epic. I would like to invite all readers of epic fantasy, of course, but I'm particularly keen on readers who may not necessarily read fantasy as their main go-to-genre but who like adventure, epic stories, literary writing and mystery. The story is set in a pseudo-medieval world. Not YA. It has got multiple POVs, as well as storylines that slowly unfold to convene and bring the characters together in joint pursuit of their goals.
If you are interested or would like to know more, please drop me a line/pm/email - also feel free to ask questions. Thanx. :-)
