Monday is Full of Win
Good morning! I have lots of fun stuff to share with you today.
Item the first: Winners!
Thanks to everyone who entered the contests. The winners will each receive a $20 Barnes and Noble gift card.
The drink recipe winner was a tough choice. They all sounded good, but I had to pick the one that most embodied the essence of being a Red-Headed Stepchild. In the end, JT’s red bull, tobasco, horseradish, pepper and tequila concoction seemed most like to make one feel beaten down. So, congrats to JT. I

LOLerskating
Remember when you were young and could go out three or more nights a week? When you bounced back from a hangover in time to hit the bars again less than 24 hours later?
Well. Apparently I have crossed the threshold from young, wild thing to old, aching thing. This morning I am mainlining coffee and chewing on aspirin like they’re candy because I … wait for it …. went roller skating.
Yes, friends, last night I strapped on ugly brown skates–the kind with four wheels and that little nubby thing at

Housewarming Party!
Hello, my friends, and welcome to my new home on the web. Make yourself comfortable. Feel free to snoop around and look in all the cabinets. I don’t mind. Also, see that nifty little widget to your right? If you like it, you can pick it up and add it to your own site. There’s even a Official Red-Headed Stepchild button if you’d like a little flair.

After thirteen months of waiting, it’s now less than 30 days until RED-HEADED STEPCHILD officially hits the stands. Now, it’s entirely possible (even probable) those of you who have preordered (bless you) might get your copies before then. If that happens, let me know and we’ll all do the dance of joy.
It’s not every day (or month) that a woman’s wildest dreams come true, so you’ll have to bear with me over the next few weeks. Just warning you so you

Friends and Web Sites
Last night, I went to see my friend Jamie Ford speak at the Crow Collection of Asian Art. Jamie’s debut novel HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER & SWEET just hit the NYT extended list (three weeks after its release).
After his talk, Jamie, his lovely wife Leesha, my best friend Emily and I went to their swank hotel for a few drinks and some of the most elegant bar food I’ve ever encountered. Jamie and Leesha are the most down-to-earth and fun people. And it’s truly great to see that in Jamie’s case,

Stars!
Got some exciting news last night. Romantic Times Book Reviews magazine gave Red-Headed Stepchild 4.5 stars!! The full review will come out in RT’s April issue.
Also, I had an epiphany yesterday (it was a busy day). I finished the short story and sent it off to my beta reader. Let me just say, finishing that short has done a ton for my stress level. Sure, I’ll still have some tweaking to do, but the bulk of the work is done. And I got to thinking about it. Novelists spend so much time work on lo
