Wide Release Day for Donn, TX 1978

After a limited release on the Extreme Horror ebook app Godless, Donn, TX 1978 is now available in paperback & ebook on Amazon. I'll have links below.

There’s a place in Texas the locals avoid at all cost, where the lost go missing and the damned reside.

You won’t find it on any map, there are no road signs to guide you, and once there, may God have mercy on your soul.

For when the scarecrow awakens, the harvest of the living begins.

1978

Sheriff Harold Smite has done all he can to make the yearly harvest run smoothly, but something out in the corn is dying to get free.

Jane Lipman faced the harvest nine years ago and survived. She’s done everything she can to make peace with the past, but Donn, TX isn’t done with her.

Bonnie Smite thought she was simply run down, but she’s been chosen for something special. Something only The Pale Man knows about and he’s not sharing.

Welcome to Donn, TX: Gateway to Hell.

I've said this a number of times, but I did write the Donn, TX series to be read in any order and every year is a self-contained story. Yes, they all connect and fill in the blanks of the wider idea of Donn, TX, but they aren't necessary to enjoy any 1 book. Of course, I want you to dive in and see what the entire series is about, but I didn't want to hang the pressure of a series over the reader. I wanted people to have the ability to pick how they read the books. If you want to read them by release or chronologically or some other system, you can and it will all make sense. There might be a few questions left unanswered, but nothing that will take away from the enjoyment of that year.

The reviews are starting to come in and people are digging 1978.

Week 1 let down ...

So I've dropped the ball 2 posts in a row. I wish I had a good excuse but I was probably wallowing as my Niners dropped the ball in Chicago. Although that's not a good enough excuse to forget to get Monday's post together. I mean I knew it was Sunday this time, lol. So let's get started, and hopefully next week the Niners can beat the Seahawks.

I hope you've checked out and enjoyed my YouTube project with Donna as we discuss the books and movies that have influenced horror and take a peak at the people who are behind-the-scenes of indie horror. I wanted to share our lineup with y'all in case you want to read/watch along.

In between each book, we will talk about the movie. So 10/5 will be The Exorcist movie, 11/2 will be The Amityville Horror movie, Rosemary's Baby will be discussed on 11/30 which will bump The Omen novel to 12/14.

This will finish up our 2022 schedule and we will start 2023 with The Sentinel by Jeffrey Konvitz before switching gears and moving to Sausages: The Making of Dog Soldiers. We will combine our movie/book discussion on this one since it is a book about the making of a fantastic werewolf movie.

In between all these weeks, we hope to have a few quick hits & some interviews with the people who make indie horror stand out. This Wednesday, we will talk with Candace Nola and her role as an editor. It's full of good information of how to work with an editor and what to expect. Head over to our page and subscribe so you don't miss an episode.

Don't forget you can grab an ebook copy of Donn, TX 1978 over at Godless for $1.99 for a few more days. It will be live on Amazon Wednesday for $3.99(special low ebook price) & $15 for a paperback. I will also be getting in copies so if you are interested in a signed one just let me know.

Holidaze ...

I'm losing days getting everything put together for Donn, TX 1978's release.

There’s a place in Texas the locals avoid at all cost, where the lost go missing and the damned reside. You won’t find it on any map, there are no road signs to guide you, and once there, may God have mercy on your soul. For when the scarecrow awakens, the harvest of the living begins. 1978

Bonnie Smite thought she was simply run down, but she’s been chosen for something special. Something only The Pale Man knows about and he’s not sharing.

Welcome to Donn, TX: Gateway to Hell.

After having all my stuff on Amazon exclusively, I've decided to dip my toe back into the Godless waters. It's an extreme horror ebook app that focus on rewarding the creators. For 3 days (9/11-9/13) you can get the book there for $1.99 before the price goes to $3.99. There isn't a link yet for the book but you can find it on my author page ,here.

The paperback and ebook will be available on Amazon on 9/14/22. The regular price will be $4.99 but will be on sale for $3.99 for 1 week. I should have copies of the book within a few weeks if anyone is interested in a signed copy.

Thanks for all your support.

1 more week

For the first time, Donn, TX will be enjoying a run on the #1 indie horror ebook app ,Godless. To celebrate, I will have it on the site as a 3-day exclusive and for the low price of $1.99. On 9/14 the price goes to $3.99 on Godless and the book will be available on Amazon in both ebook & paperback.

While all the Donn, TX stories are on Kindle Unlimited, Donn, TX 1978 will not be joining KU until October. A lot of the fun with Donn, TX is each year is both a self-contained story and part of a larger group. I wrote them to be read in any order and made sure that no matter what year you start with the story makes sense.

If you want to read them in the order of release you can read ,Donn, TX 1952 on my site for free. Then head over to ,Amazon(Kindle Unlimited) and you can read 1969-1865-1926-2002. Or you can wait and read Donn, TX 1978 first and then dive into the others in any order.

No Anesthetic II is now out

I'm proud to have a story in this extreme horror anthology. These stories pull no punches and aim to make you squirm.

From Amazon:

Splatter Ink Publishing presents No Anesthetic II, an anthology of brutal no-boundaries stories written by some of the best names in horror.

A lonely man finds love and horrifying obsession in the most unlikely place. Layla trusts Ryan and will do almost anything to please him, but what happens when almost isn’t enough? A group of friends stop to render aid on a backwoods highway. Ivan is just looking for love, but no one is ever quite what they seem.

A demented and irreverent fairytale, stories of brutal betrayal, of choices and consequences, of unimaginable horrors, and introducing Liam Carver and his dark story about the horrors of dementia. Ten extreme stories written to horrify and delivered with no anesthetic.

I mean look at this lineup!

“Dead Reckoning” by McHardy & Hawker

“Father & Son” by Brian Berry

Plan a trip to Donn, TX

With Donn, TX 1978 nearing the final stages of completion, now's the time to take a trip if you haven't already. You can read the stories in any order so you can wait for the newest one, read them in release order, or chronologically. It's all up to you. I should have release information to share in the next couple of weeks ...

The Donn, TX Collection Volume 1 contains the first 4 ebooks of Donn, TX. You get Donn, TX 1952, 1969, 1865, & 1926. These stories are available on ebook & audiobook by the year.

Once you finish 1952, 1969, 1865, & 1926 in the first (& probably only) collected volume, the next installment of Donn, TX takes place in 2002. It shows us a Donn, TX that is desperate and almost empty of life.
