Or pull up another short piece that needs editing and work on that.
Sometimes though, if that doesn't work, then a walk, a bath or very loud music and dancing or cleaning my house can help dislodge the block.
Although I don't really think of it as a block, more that my brain is telling me I need something different for a short while. (less)

This will be a mixture of very short/Flash Fiction and short stories from 1000 words- 5000 words. I'm preparing these for an editor right now and have commissioned an artist to create the book cover. In fact, she has just forwarded me a draft and I'm blown away. I'm so excited to share. I'm aiming for a publication date of 9th April 2022 but will share the cover, hopefully before the end of the calendar year.(less)

Confession Time

I’ve started writing online, somewhere other than here on my blog. Meet Substack. Have you heard of it? You may already use it to read, or write. After much encouragement from a couple of friends (you know who you are!) two months ago I decided to dabble. I did this in a clandestine way, purposefully […]

“The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.”
Wendy Wunder, The Probability of Miracles

Shirley Jackson
“On the moon we wore feathers in our hair, and rubies on our hands. On the moon we had gold spoons.”
Shirley Jackson, We Have Always Lived in the Castle

Sylvia Plath
“I thought the most beautiful thing in the world must be shadow, the million moving shapes and cul-de-sacs of shadow. There was shadow in bureau drawers and closets and suitcases, and shadow under houses and trees and stones, and shadow at the back of people's eyes and smiles, and shadow, miles and miles and miles of it, on the night side of the earth.”
Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar
