Author copies, bubble wrap and a big THANK YOU.
Only seven more days before the release of REAL MERMAIDS DON’T HOLD THEIR BREATH (book #2) and things are getting exciting!
I’ve been slaving away on revisions of REAL MERMAIDS DON’T NEED HIGH HEELS (book #3) while promoting the e-book price drop of REAL MERMAIDS DON’T WEAR TOE RINGS (book #1) so I’m juggling mermaids like flaming torches.
And then…these arrived!
My author copies of REAL MERMAIDS DON’T HOLD THEIR BREATH! When the chicklets arrived home from school I was SO excited to show them.
ME: There’s something pretty cool in the kitchen.
CHICKLET #1: Oh, more lemon loaf?
ME: No, it’s in the box on the table.
CHICKLET #2 (flipping the lid): Cool!
CHICKLET #1: What?
CHICKLET #2: Bubble wrap!!
After 11 books, I think my chicklets are officially jaded. *sigh* But ANYWAY, then I sent a little video to a friend of mine who has been SO supportive and has read countless drafts of my Real Mermaids books (and to be fair, the chicklets have, too–they just REALLY like bubble wrap 
)

Normal is never coming back…
Jade is totally confused. As in, “will this be a leg-day or a tail-day?” kind of confused. Even worse, it’s been forever since her first kiss with Luke and now—nothing. Not even a text message.
Sigh.
But Jade doesn’t have time to figure out the weirdness of boys and how to use her shiny new tail. (Seriously, being a mermaid should come with a handbook.) She has to come up with a plan to get her missing mermaid mom back on dry land.
The only problem is…Jade is afraid of the ocean. But even aqua-phobic mer-girls have to take the plunge sometime…

Punchy Paper Snowflakes
Would you like to jazz up your paper snowflakes this holiday season? Here's a simple craft to help make your season bright.
Tools:
- rectangular shaped paper
- single hole punch
- scissors
- stapler
- clear tape
Method:
1. Fan-fold the paper back and forth in ½ inch folds.
2. Staple the fan at the middle.
3. Make holes with the hole punch in random places then cut the tips into a point.
4. Open the fan to form a circle and tape it in place.
And…voila! Enjoy!

Scholastic!
I had no idea what this package was when the UPS man dropped it off. I was even more confused when I opened it.
"That's nice…" I thought. But why was Sourcebooks/ Jabberwocky sending me more author copies?
Then I noticed the little red addition at the bottom of the cover…
Scholastic! A children's author's dream come true (at least THIS author 
).
Now available in the Scholastic Teen December/ Holiday sales in Canada (page 3) and the US (page 1!).
