As darkness engulfs you
A cold wind blows on your face
Now sit back and relax
Let the flashbacks of your troubles pass

There’s a light appearing in the distance
Calling upon you to enter
The maze of endless fatigue
It’s just another door to go through

You can see things that are not there
They used to be but now have gone
Now your dreams are your living nightmares
Walk through the halls of hallucinations to finally be free.

You have kissed me in the Moonlight
You have kissed me in the rain
Now kiss me when the lightning strikes
And feel the explosion between us

Let it light up the skies and our hearts
Feel the tingles pass from me to you
And those as the lightning strikes above us
Hold me close but pull me closer

See the spark as the lightning strikes
But feel the power that we let escape
The magic we can now share between us
With thanks to the lightning’s kiss.

The shadow I know
Is not the same that you will see
Following me when the lights are dimmed

The shadow I know
Is with me all of the time
Masking all my unhappy thoughts and feelings

The shadow I know
Unlike you, will always be there
Keeping me company when I am alone

The shadow I know
Can not stop others from hurting me
But can stop me from hurting others.

I have had a few comments about people wanting to read some more of my poems, so I thought I would let another one slip away for you to dive deep into. This will be in my next book which I hope will be out sometime in the second half of the year.

I search for your eyes over crowds of others
Your eyes search for mine
Our hearts beat as one
But we both know this can’t be so
Our love is growing stronger
But there is a wall between us
Stopping us in our paths
We will never be saints
As long as we are sinning
Our hearts are lost in the dark
I yearn to feel a sense of belonging
When entwined within your arms
I know the love we share is a mutual love
Surrender unto me
We will know when the moment is right
Leave our secrets behind in the light
As we step into the darkside of love.

I thought I would start by lightening the mood by letting you see one of the poems from my next book, "Beyond Darkness".

Velvet Rose

The gift of love you gave to me
In the form of a single red rose
The velvet rose of deep blood red
The resemblance of my heart I now give to you

I hope my rose like our love never dies
So I can hold our hearts forever close
I’ll dry the rose and keep it forever safe
A symbol or our love now and that yet to come.
