I appreciate this curated list

that author G. Donald Cribbs created of YA books that deal with sexual abuse, sexual assault, trafficking, and more. It’s so important to have these books and these discussions, to #BelieveSurvivors and hear them, to help each other heal. And I am so glad to have my books included in this powerful list. #MeToo

I am always so happy to see readers who connected with me following their own heart, dreams

and creative endeavours. So I was delighted to hear from Jacob Lasher that he’s written and published MORE TO LIFE, a book of poetry dealing with trauma and child abuse (both physical and sexual) and healing. I’ve only just read the first few poems and already found them moving, honest, and brave, compelling and relatable. Another strong survivor voice. I look forward to reading the rest.

I’m typing up a (three-quarters finished) first draft of a new manuscript

(and just finished early edits on another), and Petal insisted on cuddling. So she’s on top of blankets on my lap, leaning on my chest, wedged between me and the desk as I work. She’s still not 100% but she is SO much better. I love this cuddly, sweet little girl.
