Coming Soon…

Prince Charming is on its way! I recently revamped a lot of my old freebies and put them up on prolific works… but this one seemed like it should have a different fate.

I’d always meant to do a bit more with it, and so I decided to do just that Instead of four chapters (one for each season), it will be divided into months so there will be twelve chapters. Quite a bit has been added to it so instead of short story length, it will be a novella like the rest of my Vintage YA short reads. (aka the stories I wrote when i was first getting into writing gay romance)

These characters all deal with things like growing up, coming to terms with who they are, learning to fall in love. A lot of the themes are things I don’t write about all that often anymore.

Usually my characters these days are adults who have growing to do just like anyone, but aren’t really exploring their sexuality and figuring who they are. It was fun to hop back into my old playground for a little bit:) I’ll share an excerpt soon and you’ll see this coming in the next few weeks…

Two of my old Dreamspinner books — Originally titles The Millionaire Upstairs and Game Point — will be back soon! I decided to create a whole fashion universe and decided that these two main characters probably at least knew each other at the very least:)

I’m going to flesh out both stories a bit from the category length and then there will be two more fashion themed romances coming in a few months <3

I have quite an ambitious year planned! I thought I’d go ahead and jump back into writing full time since apparently I’m not great at baby steps:) my first book, Chef in the Wild, will be live on Amazon within the next day or two — eeek! I’m working on planning and edits for book two of the series, Chef vs. Chef, which will come in early June and Chef on Top for July. I’m going to make a list of what I have planned down below! Always feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions:)

Sizzling in the Kitchen Books: These books are all about… you guessed it. Chefs! There are taco trucks, fancy Manhattan eateries, country farm to table cuisine, and even a celebrity chef hotspot in Vegas. The books will have related characters, but each book will have its own main couple. They’re all going to be novella length — if I can manage to control myself! Here’s the release months for those

My second series that I have planned is set all in my favorite place… home! I’m calling these books the Love Tacoma series since I do love it here

My final plans for this year are for my Little Magic series, an old favorite of mine:) I’ve already re-released A little Bite of Magic with a new cover and some extra material. That one is available on Prolific works for the near future. A Little Taste of Magic will be back in a month or so with a new cover and some additional content. I do want to finish that trilogy since I love writing it so much. The third book will be called A Little Sip of Magic, and depending on my editing schedule, that will be out in the Fall or early Winter

I’ve been on a long break from writing! Until recently, I hadn’t actually written a book in nearly two years (yikes!). But while it was kind of fun (sometimes) being a teacher again, I really did miss getting involved in a book and I had an absolute avalanche of story ideas piling up in my computer… So I’m back:)

The past six months or so, I’ve been slowly planning everything out, and then I just jumped back into it by writing my first two books! You’ll start seeing books from me Starting early May:)

Hey There!!

I’ve had a busy month (or so) since I last blogged! I’ve been working on a lot of projects both writing as MJ and not!

One of the things I’ve been working on setting up (or reviving) is my old Salad Gourmet blog. I moved my old recipes to a new, easier to read format, started a facebook page, and am getting ramped up to start adding new recipes! They’ll be mostly healthy, a lot of family favorites, and maybe a sneaky treat here and there. Eventually The Salad Gourmet — which is me and my mom writing together– will publish some books of recipes and guidelines and eventually some cooking videos as well:) It’s a fun project if you want to check it out —

In more normal MJ type news I’ve been working away on a few books —

A Little Bite of Magic will come back to me in a month or so when I get the contract back. It will have a new cover and be available on the usual distribution sites.

Pawsitively In Love  Is coming out next week (yay!!!) That one is already up on Amazon and at the moment, I’m working on a blog tour for that so check out blogs starting next week for info and excerpts.

Later this spring, I’ll be releasing a companion book to A Little Bite of Magic, called A Little Taste of Magic. There will be cooking and witches and definitely some magic:) I’ll put out some excerpts here and in my newsletter!

When I was planning The Millionaire Upstairs, I knew I wanted it to take place in some fabulous settings that might be a bit unrealistic for us normal folks

I figured it was past time to reinstate an old tradition! Back when Piper and I used to run Babes in Boyland, Music Monday was one of our staples (along with tattooo tuesdays but I digress…)

Since today is rainy and yucky in Washington, which it will be until summer basically haha, I decided to go for peppy two of the songs I tend to bop around the house to.

First one from one of my all time favorite bands:) The lyrics are a little bitter but if you ignore that it just sounds like summer

 

Second is a bit newer and definitely more pop…but also really fun to dance to. Makes doing dishes go a bit faster for sure!

Hey there everyone  

This is the first real blog post on my new and (hopefully) improved website:) I’ve been pretty busy the last month or so visiting with Poppy Dennison and Charlie Cochet, visiting family in California, and now I’m home and getting back to work! I’m getting ready for my next book, The Millionaire Upstairs to come out January 1st:) One of the first new Dreamspinner babies of the year and the first of the new line called Dreamspun Desires. I’m super excited for these ones. They’ll be the size and length of a category romance and feature lots of tropey fun — millionaires, cowboys, cops, tycoons, rock stars, movie stars, and royalty — you name it, I’m sure a Dreamspinner author is cooking it up as we speak
