College Book Bucks Winners!

I was amazed by the variety of books that inspired my College Book Bucks winners to choose their future careers. One boy said Ender’s Game made him want to be a college professor, while another said The Stranger made him want to be a high school choir teacher. You can read all of the winners’ answers here: http://www.jamespatterson.com/college-book-bucks-winners-2013.php#.UfFnVKwmZ8E

Extras from My New York Times Interview

As you may have seen, the New York Times just ran an interview of me (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/25/books/review/james-patterson-by-the-book.html). I told them everything from what books I think the President should read to which of my characters gives me the most pride. But not every piece of the interview made it into print. Want to see what didn’t?

18. What do you plan to read next? The rest of today’s Book Review. Speaking of which, why do you insist on publishing the bestseller list a week behind The Wall Street Journal and USA Today’s lists? That seems sillier than the bestseller list itself. Kind of like posting the sports scores ten days late.

Save Our Bookstores

As I told Norah O'Donnell, Charlie Rose, and Gayle King earlier this week on CBS This Morning, I try not to just talk the talk, but walk the walk. So I'll be giving $1 million to independent bookstores across the country.

Watch the whole interview here: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57603091/james-patterson-pledges-$1m-to-help-independent-booksellers/

A Chance to Win $10,000

In my newest Treasure Hunters book, Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World, the Kidd siblings venture all the way to the Arctic in search of stolen treasure, and they'll need your kiddo’s help along the way.

To celebrate the book’s launch, my publisher has put together a real-life treasure hunt of sorts. Some kid—maybe even yours—is going to win a real-life pile of riches. $10,000 is the figure I’ve heard. Details on how to have a chance to win are below.

Happy reading. And happy treasure-hunting.

James Patterson presents Stalking Jack the Ripper

There’s a new twist on the famous Jack the Ripper legend—and I’d be proud to have written it myself: presenting Stalking Jack the Ripper, the heart-stopping debut novel from Kerri Maniscalco.

Meet Audrey Rose Wadsworth. She’s a fiery and intelligent seventeen-year-old from one of the wealthiest families in London—oh, and she spends her free time dissecting corpses in her uncle’s laboratory and learning about forensic medicine. She’s not your ordinary hero, and good thing too, because it will take someone extraordinary to catch the most infamous serial killer of the 19th century.

Young readers and adults alike won’t be able to resist the action, mystery, and romance in this book. And if it leaves you wanting more, I hear there are going to be two more books…

Happy 30th Birthday to The Simpsons

Seems like just yesterday I was visiting Springfield. Happy 30th birthday to America's favorite TV family. Maybe I will be back in the neighborhood soon.

Booksellers Save Lives

BOOKSELLERS SAVE LIVES!

Children’s booksellers especially — they guide children to books they’ll genuinely enjoy and in turn create a new generation of readers. I’m happy to be able to acknowledge them and the important work they do in any way that I can.

So I gave 500 local booksellers a holiday bonus of $500 at the end of 2019 to brighten their holiday season!

Thank you to all of the amazing booksellers out there!
