After a refreshing holiday break, we're back in action on several fronts, including the creation of a dedicated archival room in the basement so my boxes don't drown the rest. ::grins::
As I type this, my editor at DAW is finalizing her revision requests and comments for A SHIFT OF TIME, out this July! More Night's Edge, more Marrowdell, and some surprises. WHOO!
A Shift of Time
I'm already into the next, A TWIST OF MAGIC. A good bet it'll be out in 2026 but much depends on the writing etc.
I am feeling the twitch to write more SF--along with other things. As long as I do, there'll be more, dear readers.

My next fantasy novel, A Change of Place will be released by DAW Books September 17, 2024!!!!
It's the perfect month for a wonderful, cozy--yet with startling/scary bits--romantic, mysterious--yet with suspense/worrisome bits--read.
While I wrote it to be a reasonable entry into my Night's Edge series, because it's been a decade, I do recommend rereading the others first.

The most fun thing? When I'm asked how many novels I have out, this year it'll be 24! Yes--I'll never have to do the math again! (Silly but true fact, I've been doing an abashed behind my back finger count up till now, just to be sure not to overestimate.)

With a wonderful and accurate cover by Matthew Stawicki, my 24th book, A Change of Place, will be out by the time there are flowers on the trees again--instead of snow!

This is the month I always get the most done. Whether it's the weather, the coming hockey season, or simply joy, it's true.

I'm thrilled by your response to my new work this fall. Imaginings looks at 25 years of my short fiction, while Each? I sold the concept to my beloved DAW Books 5 years ago today.
Add in the honour of being inducted into the CSFFA Hall of Fame this year, with Ed Greenwood and Hayden Trenholm and I'd be excused for sitting back a while to sigh with joy.
But there's this other part of my life urging me forward. You. My readers. Everytime you pick my stuff to read, every time you take the time to review or rate it? Inspires me to write more--and better. To explore strange new worlds...::grins:: Okay, yes, what I'm writing now is more fantastical familiar worlds with toads. But I'm pretty sure you're okay with that.
