Making Friends on the Buddhist Path
I agree with this. I’ve long said that, of the Three Treasures—Buddha, Dharma and Sangha—the third is the most important, because it contains the other two.
That said, I think it’s bad for the practice when Buddhist sanghas become social clubs.

Scotland wants to introduce a law that will mean no one goes hungry again

Consecration Sunday + The Feast of Christ the King by Holly Puckett
Last Sunday, I was at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Portland to hear Holly Puckett—lawyer and singer/songwriter—preach this powerful homily. The priest described it as a“pew polisher,” a preaching that makes some people so uncomfortable they squirm in their seats.
