Happy February! It’s the season of love so I thought it was the perfect time to share the cover for my next book, THE HOUSE SAPHIR. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve heard me talk about working on this Bluebeard retelling for some time now, but now that it has a cover, it feels really real! It comes out in November and I’m so excited to share it with you.

In bittersweet news, now that the book is out in the world, it’s time to wind down the Happy Writer Podcast. It’s been an amazing nearly five years, filled with amazing authors, inspiring conversations, personal stories, and, of course, fantastic books, but it feels like the right time to turn to other things. Deck the halls and light the candles it’s release day for LET IT GLOW!!!

In case you missed us talking about it, LET IT GLOW (cowritten with Joanne Levy) is our new middle grade book about adopted twins who meet and secretly swap homes for the holidays. It’s been pitched as The Parent Trap wrapped in a holiday Hallmark movie.

Fun fact: while Joanne has been my assistant for several years (you may recognize her name as the social media manager and sometimes cohost of The Happy Writer Podcast), we’d never met in person. Even while writing LET IT GLOW!

We had such a great time that I’m doing it again!

This time, I’m taking a bunch of readers to Germany and Austria and I’d love for you to be one of them! There are still a few spots left. New Book Announcement!

Next January I have my first-ever non-fiction book coming out: THE HAPPY WRITER: GET MORE IDEAS, WRITE MORE WORDS, AND FIND MORE JOY FROM FIRST DRAFT TO PUBLICATION AND BEYOND!

This book is one that I started way back in 2019 (pre-podcast!), when I started to feel like the age-old stereotype of the cynical, grumpy, often-drunk author wasn’t applicable to me or so many writers that I knew – and trying to chase the idea that we must be suffering in order to create worthwhile art wasn’t serving us, our creativity, or our wellbeing. Now so much of what I’ve learned from personal experience and from interviewing other authors on how we can bring joy and personal satisfaction into our writing journey is going to be available in the pages of this book.
