“When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.”
Donald Miller, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: What I Learned While Editing My Life

“I never liked jazz music because jazz music doesn't resolve. But I was outside the Bagdad Theater in Portland one night when I saw a man playing the saxophone. I stood there for fifteen minutes, and he never opened his eyes.

Donald Miller, Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality

“Everybody has to leave, everybody has to leave their home and come back so they can love it again for all new reasons.”
Donald Miller, Through Painted Deserts: Light, God, and Beauty on the Open Road
