Alex Mura is the pen name of Alexander Valerievich Yakovlev. Alex was born in Izhevsk, Russia in 1996. At age seven, he moved to England with his mother. His passion for writing began whilst attending secondary school in Portsmouth, where one of his short stories went on to be published by Hodgson Press as part of a school anthology. At sixteen, Alex became Wattpad's youngest Ambassador, where he volunteered for four years. After finishing college, he went onto pursue a career in sales in the finance and IT sectors. Having left his last corporate job in 2023, his debut novel, Silence In The Basement, is coming to bookstores near you this summer - A novel highlighting loneliness, free will and companionship.
