Happy Birthday Beta Prince Buckington!

When I created the Passion's Hero series (ie, The Alpha King) I came up with birthdays for each character and correlated them with the Earth calendar. I'm weird, I know.

So imagine my happy surprise when I got a phone alert that today, February 16th was Beta Prince Buckington Roughshire's birthday?

I'd teased on Facebook that I wasn't going to write a flash fiction piece, but then of course, I got an idea for one.

I'm not sure how long it's going to be, but I'm going to roll with it. There will be grammar and spelling mistakes because this isn't going through an editor, I'm literally going to just let the words flow (but I'm going to try to edit as I go, so don't worry). And the picture before the story (and after the story) is the cover and banners I made for the book one day when I was fooling around on Photoshop. It is not the official cover and banners, okay? So don't think this is it because it's not. It's just some pretty for you to look at.

Alright. So here's the story:

One Birthday Wish. © 2014 Vicktor Alexander.

Beta Prince Buckington Roughshire hated his birthday.
It hadn't always been that way. When he was younger he had loved his birthday. He'd loved the three layer Zarlinian cake his mother would make for him, filled with Strawxigian creme and Vermithian berries. The dessert was absolutely his favorite.
His birthday had been the one day when all attention was placed on him. Not on his older brother, the heir apparent, Blazell, whom could do no wrong. No, on his birthday all eyes, all attention was on him. Buckington, the screw-up, the youngest, the disappointment. The beta.
He'd let go of those selfish, self-centered feelings--for the most part--as he'd grown older and discovered the world outside of himself. After the incident, his entire outlook on life had changed, but he'd still loved his birthday, not because all attention was on him, but because now, it reminded him that he'd survived to see another year. It made him happy and proud and want to do something incredibly stupid.
Like throw caution to the wind and finally claim his mate.
But as he watched Percy Taunton, his beautiful, blond haired mate, as the man glided around the large, informal ballroom, greeting the various guests and seeing to the royal couple, Buck knew that he absolutely couldn't claim him, no matter how much he wanted to. He lifted the glass of special blood-red Tumaron champagne that his brother had created for him every year and that only sold for Buck's birthday and took a healthy swallow of the heady liquid. He didn't usually drink. He'd learned not to ever lower his guard because of the incident, but he indulged himself, four times a year. They were always for very important reasons and he only drank himself into a coma on one of those occasions.
One was his birthday, one was Percy's birthday, one was the day of the incident--when he drank until he passed out--and then the day he and Percy should have mated but he'd had to deny the younger man instead. That day was always hard.
The musical sound of Percy's laughter drifted over to Buck and he turned his head to see Percy looking up into the hazel eyes of the large diplomat who had come over from another planet. What was his name again? Duke something. Buck felt a growl rumble in his chest and he tightened his grip around the stem of the champagne flute he held in his hand.
"If you're not going to claim him, you don't get to be angry," Tal's voice came from beside him and Buck jumped slightly, when had the little Vermithian walked up beside him.
"It's not that simple," Buck protested.
Tal shrugged. "Matings never are. Do you think that mating your big, possessive brother was simple?" He scoffed. "It wasn't. But a mate is precious. So very, very precious. And let me tell you something, the heart is fragile. It can only take so much bruising from the same person before it will eventually either shrivel up and die or turn to someone else to take care of it." Tal touched his arm and Buck looked down at his brother-in-law. He swallowed as he saw the compassion and affection shining in the man's golden eyes.
"Don't make a mistake that you will end up regretting for the rest of your life Buck." With that Tal turned and walked away.
Buck turned his attention back to his mate and found Percy's blue eyes trained on him. His breath caught in his lungs when Percy slowly made his way across the crowded floor to him and though Buck would deny it, his hands shook slightly at the thought that he would finally be able to talk to Percy since their last big argument. He wanted to smooth down his blue tunic and make sure his hair was in place. But he did none of those things, he was frozen in place as he watched his mate, his beautiful mate walk towards him. Percy looked both hesitant and determined and for the first time in over ten years, Buck prayed to The One.
Please. I can't remember the last time I asked you for anything. But if I could have anything for my birthday, just one birthday wish, I just want to know that he still cares about me. I will find a way to solve the problems and issues that keep us apart, but I have to know that when the battle is over he will be waiting for me on the other side. Please. Please let him give me a sign that all is not lost.
Percy finally came to a stop in front of Buck and he opened his mouth and closed it before looking away shyly. Buck waited with baited breath to see what Percy would say or do, his heart pounding as he continued to pray furiously for some sign from his mate. Finally Percy sighed and looked back at Buck. He smiled at him tremulously.
"Happy birthday Buck, my Beta Prince," he said, before lifting up on his toes and pressing a soft kiss to the corner of Buck's mouth. Percy turned and fled before Buck could respond, not that Buck would have been able to.
Buck lifted a hand to his mouth and touched the corner of his lips where Percy's had placed his kiss. If that wasn't a clue that there was still hope, Buck wasn't sure what was. He wanted to pump his fist in the air and shout it to the world, but he did none of those things. Instead he grinned smugly and decided to go and dance. Tomorrow he had a meeting with Eyole, one that he was not looking forward to, but tonight he would dance and celebrate.
Maybe his birthday wasn't so bad after all.

THE END

Raising Shawna Reviews & Thank You's

I am so unbelievably touched by how well received Raising Shawna has been. I was a little hesitant not only to write the book, but to submit it, to have it published, to have it read by the readers and then to have it reviewed. But I am so glad that I did. Between the 5* review from Head Out the Oven, Raising Shawna has also received a 5* review from Sid Love and it has also received a 4.5 star review from Read the Rainbow!

Here's some of the review from Sid Love:

"This story had so many different themes going on and each and every one of them were so detailed and thoroughly explored that you felt each emotion.  The grief that had permeated Shane’s life from the death of first his parents when he and his twin were 10 to the death of his twin, Shawn when they were 18. The fear of being truly committed to someone.  The fear of not being “good enough” to actually adopt a child.  But, another theme that was there throughout the entire book was LOVE.  Love of Family.  Love of a Child.  The Love of a Spouse.  The Love of Friends and even strangers. There was also hate and bigotry in this story.  There was violence and anger.  There was death.   Drug addiction.  But also, there was Hope....The author started the book talking about Himself and some of the things that he’s gone through in his life.  They were raw and very honest.  He also spoke about Trayvon Martin and the impact that his death and his case has brought about in his life.  He spoke about life in Florida and also in general.  Such powerful words that were put on paper and all of this even before you even started the story.

I will say that this book is AMAZING. I laughed and I cried while reading this book. I wanted to hug each of the characters  at multiple points in the book.  I also wanted to smack them.  I’m fun that way. I talked about this book for a few days as I kept feeling so much and I needed to get it out.  I still feel when I think about this story. "

And some of the review from Read the Rainbow:

"Raising Shawna is a wake-up call, a book about what real problems are all about, but also a beautiful message to all of those out there that are struggling: it will get better. If you keep an open mind and you accept the love of those around you, it will eventually get better. Love is the answer to everything, that's what Raising Shawna reminds us about.

I hope people will see how beautiful this book is......There's also a huge bonus for erotica lovers – the love scenes are hotter than fire. I'll let you ponder on that for a bit J

So now that that's done, I'll end with a small checklist for those uncertain about this book. You need to read it because:

-   It has a superb interracial romance story,

-   It has a beautiful baby girl and I doubt anyone can resist that,

-   It has super hot love scenes,

-   But, most importantly, it has a real and profound message (you might need a few tissues at times, be prepared)."

I am sooo unbelievably happy about this. I'm glad that the message in the story is being heard and understood and that so many people are enjoying the story, the love between Shane and Tucker and how cute and adorable Shawna is.

Can I just say that, hearing the love scenes in Raising Shawna were "hotter than fire" from Read the Rainbow made me laugh out loud? THAT was awesome!

Thank you all so very, very much for your continued support. For buying the book. Talking about the book to others. And for writing to me to tell me how much the book touched you. It means so much to me.

And thank you to the reviewers who gave this book a chance and read it with not only an open-mind but an open heart and gave their honest review of the book. It means a lot to me.

"In The Beginning" Blog Tour: Day 5: A Deleted Scene

DELETED SCENE: Valentine’s Day With Ronny and Cole
Hey everyone! It’s Day Five of the “In The Beginning” blog tour and it’s ALSO Valentine’s Day!! Or in my case “Singles Awareness Day” (Let’s hear it for all my singles out there!!!) So because I’m single and Cole and Ronny are TOTALLY rubbing their whole mated status in my face I’m giving away a free ebook of The Beginning to someone today. You’ll receive the book on the 17th when it releases, but you’ll win it today! W00t! Now, because the boys are here at The Purple Fantasy Den I figured I’d give you guys a “Deleted Scene”. This is one of the scenes that I wrote that didn’t really fit in anywhere so because it didn’t fit anywhere I removed it and decided that I’d give it away as a freebie on my blog at some point. And what better time than during the tour? So I cleaned it up a bit, added some things and tweaked it a bit to make it work for Valentine’s. So enjoy this “Deleted Scene” from The Beginning (Sons of Adam: 1) .
******************
Cole Tronk was a strong lion shifter. He could easily be the King of his own pride if he so wanted to, but he chose not to be. Not because he had not aspirations to lead, but because he had something so much more important in his life, his mate, Ronny Parker.His currently missing mate, Ronny Parker.As Cole stepped into the home he shared with his mate, he sniffed the air trying to catch the scent of his mate, a low rumbling purr rising up from his chest when he caught the delicious scent of not only Ronny, but also of Ronny’s lust. Normally, the scent of Ronny’s lust hanging in the air in such a cloying manner would have sent Cole’s lion into a rage, but the absence of any other male’s scent in the house other than Cole’s kept him calm.It was Valentine’s Day and apparently Ronny was preparing himself for Cole. Cole’s lips pulled back into a self-satisfied grin. He wouldn’t have called himself arrogant before, but the fact that his mate was readying himself for Cole did something to the predator inside of Cole. His hand tightened on the roses and the wrapped box of season 8 of Criminal Minds on DVD he held and he closed the door behind him as he stepped forward. It was only as he took a few steps down the hallway that he noticed the rose petals on the floor. He looked down and froze. Why the hell were there rose petals on his fucking floor?
He looked up and noticed a folded card on the sideboard table. Stepping over to it, he lifted the card and noticed his name written on the outside. Flipping the card open, he read what was written inside:My Lion,When I tried to think of what to get you for Valentine’s I ran into a problem.You don’t like roses…The card ended there and Cole was confused. He flipped the card over and over, sniffing the air to make sure that there was no subtle scent of blood in the air and that Ronny hadn’t been prevented from being able to finish writing the card. When he didn’t detect any blood, he shoved the card into his pocket and kept walking, following the trail of rose petals down the hallway to the living room. He saw another card and he stopped and picked it up with a smile on his face. It appeared that his mate was playing a game with him. He liked it.You also don’t really like chocolates.At least, not as much as I do.Though you do seem to like my chocolate stick, chocolate balls, and my chocolate buns.So then what should I get you for Valentine’s Day? Cole barely stopped himself from laughing out loud at that particular card. He did love Ronny’s stick, balls and buns. They were a few of his favorite things. He closed the card and slid it into his pocket before looking down at the floor to see where the petals were leading.Towards the bedroom. Excellent. His favorite place.As he started walking towards the bedroom he noticed that there seemed to be articles of clothing scattered along the floor. A shoe here and a sock there. Deciding to follow his mate’s lead, Cole began to disrobe.He slowly pulled off his clothes, tossing his clothes aside as he did so, his cock hard and leaking in his boxer briefs. As he got closer to their bedroom the smell of Ronny’s lust grew stronger and just outside the door of their bedroom it was so thick that Cole could practically taste it on his tongue. He purred as his mate’s lust enveloped him and he shivered as he felt his lion roar within him. The beast wanted him to hurry up and get inside of the room so that they could fuck their mate… now.Cole noticed the pair of boxer briefs on the floor next to the door and he tucked his thumbs beneath the waistband of his own and pushed them down, his hard erection smacking up against the corrugated planes of his stomach. He moaned and gripped the base of his cock and squeezed tightly. It wouldn’t do him any good to come before he even got into the room with Ronny.When he felt sufficiently in control, Cole released his erection, and reached out to twist the doorknob to the bedroom door. When he stepped into the room the first thing he noticed were the candles around the room, giving the room a romantic glow. Then there was the smell of Ronny’s arousal that filled the room. It was almost as if he’d smeared the room with his cum, which didn’t turn Cole off like it would have someone else, it made him want to add his own cum to it. It made him want to grab his mate and coat the gorgeous man’s brown skin in the white liquid of his own spunk. It made him want to roar with arousal as he asserted his dominance over his mate. It made his legs tremble as he realized how much his mate wanted him. Especially when he looked at the bed.In the middle of the bed, the side of his pressed into the bed, his elbows on the bed, back arched, knees spread and ass pointed toward the door, lubed, and lewdly spread wide open from the monstrous dildo that now lay on the floor, was his gorgeous, panting and whimpering mate, surrounded by condoms in the shape of a heart. “I knew that you weren’t a roses or a chocolates kind of guy, but I know that you are a Ronnykind of guy mefor Valentine’s Day. Happy Valentine’s Day, baby,” Ronny said breathlessly.so I decided to give you
Cole growled and stepped forward. “It’s the greatest present ever.” Without another word he pressed two fingers deep inside of Ronny’s body and moaned when the younger man’s body practically sucked the digits inside.“C-Cole. P-please. I need you.”Never one to deny his mate anything, Cole was only too happy to oblige him.Turning his head he glanced down at the condoms on the bed even as he stroked the head of his cock up and down the crease of Ronny’s ass.“I think that I should work my way through every single one of these condoms,” he stated thoughtfully.Ronny gasped. “Cole. There are over thirty condoms over this bed!”Cole chuckled. “Then I guess it’s a good thing that I have tomorrow off huh?” No more words were spoken then, at least not words that weren’t said in passionate moans, groans and gasps. Deities were called upon and profanities were shouted until both Cole and Ronny collapsed in exhaustion. They showered, ate, slept for a bit and started all over again, until the candles had burned out completely and both of them were walking funny. They were satisfied, however, and though they winced as they walked, the wide grins on their faces said that the chafing and pain were well worth it.And when Cole walked in the door on the afternoon of February the 16th and saw another folded card on the sideboard in the hallway, his cock instantly grew hard. But when he picked up the card it wasn’t a purr or a growl of lust that left his chest, it was a roar of laughter for scrawled on the card, in his mate’s handwriting were the words:
Buy more condoms.

Blurb:Ronny Parker has always been aware that there was more to life outside of his Harlem apartment. When he goes to work one morning at Starbucks, he finds himself coming face to face with a reality that he was not prepared for. He finds himself the eyewitness to a fight between two shifters, a wolf and a lion, one of which bites Ronny and calls him “mate.” When Ronny wakes up the next morning, he finds himself thrust into a world neither his family, nor his teachers, ever taught him about and he does the only thing he can do. He starts to investigate.Cole Tronk has been taught from an early age that he is never to mate a human, never reveal his true nature to a human, and that he cannot be gay. But when he gets into a fight with his oldest friend outside of a Starbucks and finds himself smelling the most intoxicating scent ever, he throws all of those rules out of the window. Before long, Cole and his mate, Ronny, are on the run from the governing body of the paranormals, humans who have now discovered that paranormals, magicks, and supernaturals exist, and someone from Ronny’s past who is determined to kill them both. Along the way, Cole and Ronny meet up with a group of paranormals, magicks, and supernaturals who are also gay, and who are researching the true history of the world and creation. What they find will not only change their lives, but the entire world and the future. Will Ronny and Cole’s mating survive all of these obstacles? When a millennia-old lie comes back to bite them in the ass, will Ronny and Cole be able to deal with the consequences?
The Beginning can be pre-ordered from Rooster & Pig Publishing at a discounted price until its release day at which time it will go to its normal price:http://www.roosterandpigpublishing.co...

After the Rain By Daisy Harris Blog Tour

Daisy will be awarding a $20 gift card to Amazon or Barnes and Noble to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour, and a $10 gift card to a randomly drawn host.

After the Rainby Daisy Harris
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
They’re going to need a bigger tent.
Henri’s list of bad exes is as long as his arm, but nothing prepared him for his latest, heart-stomping breakup. He thought he couldn’t feel more abandoned, until his ride for a group camping trip bails, leaving him stuck driving for hours with a guy who is absolutely not his type.
After breaking up with his girlfriend of five years, firefighter Logan is working up the nerve to explore his interest in men. He knows he’s gay. He just hasn’t had the guts to do anything about it…until now.
Henri’s big-city attitude and tight jeans push every last one of Logan’s buttons, and when he and Henri have to share a tent, Logan is thrilled. He should have realized Pacific Northwest weather would get wet—forcing them to strip naked. Though the steam between them is thicker than coastal fog, Henri’s not sure he can let himself fall for another man. Not even the guy who finally treats him right.
Warning: Contains bad ex-boyfriends, even worse weather, and more than your average amount of sex in a tent. May not be suitable for those with germ phobias, outdoor aversions or fear of damp shoes.
Excerpt:
The first thing Henri smelled when he woke up was coffee. The second was bacon.
He rolled onto his back, staring at the top of the tent and anticipating the salty, crisp fat. Henri was probably sublimating with food since he wouldn’t be getting laid anytime soon, but if he couldn’t eat cock, bacon was a pretty good substitute.
The smell of Logan was there too, though the guy himself no longer took up the better part of the tent. Henri lifted his head off the sweatpants he’d somehow replaced his pillow with in the middle of the night, and assessed his surroundings. Logan’s duffel filled the corner, meaning Logan must have slept scrunched in the shortened space. Other than that, Logan’s side of the tent was completely clean.
Henri’s side, on the other hand, looked like his suitcase had vomited in the night.
The tent flap rustled, and a slice of Logan’s face appeared in the opening. “You awake?”
“Yeah.” Henri started to smile, and he forced his lips to a smirk instead. Things had been fine the night before, more comfortable than Henri would have expected, once Logan had stopped talking, but Henri didn’t want to get too friendly with Logan and lead the guy on. Between the STI thing and still being hung up on Preston, Henri was in no position to start dating. “Is that coffee at someone else’s campsite, or is there a chance I can have some?”
Logan reached into the tent, a travel mug in his giant fist, and handed it to Henri. His grin was shy, and his cheeks red.
Well, drat. Henri was leading him on just by not kicking the guy.
Birkenstock-wearing glamour girl and mother of two by immaculate conception, Daisy Harris still isn't sure if she writes erotica. Her romances start out innocently enough. However, her characters behave like complete sluts. Much to Miss Harris's dismay the sex tends to get completely out of hand.
She writes about fantastical creatures and about young men getting their freak on, and she's never missed an episode of The Walking Dead.
Birthday Wishes Book Tour
 Heidi Lynn will be awarding a $15.00 Amazon gift card to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour.
Birthday Wishesby Heidi Lynn Anderson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Emily Samson’s awful thirtieth birthday consists of a solo bubble bath, burned microwave popcorn and a broken elevator – until both of her gorgeous landlords show up, making all her wishes come true.

Corporate whiz Emily Samson’s friends have deserted her for husbands and babies. So what does she do to celebrate turning the big 3-0? She buys herself popcorn and chocolate, refusing to settle for less than her ideal man. Or two. Her birthday wish is to be sandwiched between both her hunky landlords - as if that would ever happen outside of her most sensual, and secret, dreams.

Conner Walker and Jackson Smith are ready to find the one woman who can satisfy them both. However, finding that elusive someone to fulfill their needs has been like finding a snowflake in a snowstorm. When they rescue the normally uptight woman from 5B and discover her in cotton pjs instead of cherry red stilettos, they wonder if they’ve finally found the one strong enough to handle their demands.

Excerpt:
The woman, who strictly wore designer brands like Chanel and Gucci like armor, looked vulnerable and adorable in the stupid pajamas. Conner’s jeans suddenly felt a bit too tight in the crotch. He cleared his throat. “Sorry… you took us off guard.”
A pretty flush filled her cheeks and she pulled at her collar. “I wasn’t expecting company.”
Conner shifted his stance in an attempt to hide his raging erection. “We um…” Conner shoved his hands in his pockets.
Jackson stepped forward clasping his hands in front of his own hard-on. “What Conner is trying to say is that we came to tell you the elevator’s fixed.”
She unwrapped her injured palm and winced. “That doesn’t tell me why you are standing in my kitchen.”
Fresh longing punched Conner in the gut. “We thought there was a fire.”
He walked over beside her and reached over to turn on the tap. The back of his hand brushed the soft material covering her small waist. Heat exploded up his arm and raced to areas of his body he was trying not to think about at the moment.
“Here, put your hand under cold water.” He glanced at Jackson and frowned. The other man’s eyes filled with a hunger Conner knew all too well.
