Why I Started Writing

I started writing back in school, coming up with short stories in the evening and sharing them with my classmates the next morning.

Later, during my student years, I worked for a small entertainment newspaper with a modest circulation of about 5,000 copies. Although its reach was limited, the newspaper was recognized on a republic-wide level. I began there as a contributor and eventually became the editor-in-chief. It was an invaluable experience, teaching me how to connect with an audience and giving me the chance to meet creative people who broadened my perspective.

My love for the detective and thriller genres — with their unexpected twists, meaningful setups, and thoughtful conclusions — is something I share with countless readers who carry a deep appreciation for these stories.

At the same time, I often felt disappointed when a plot twist seemed added only for shock value, leaving behind the sense of being tricked rather than truly surprised. Even if such twists were technically possible, they often lacked the emotional weight that makes a story truly memorable.

This made me think: why not try to write stories where every twist feels not only surprising, but earned — where each revelation has meaning, justification, and leaves a lasting impact on the reader's heart?

I wouldn’t have started publishing my work if I weren’t confident that, by the end of the book, the reader would want to pick up the next one.

That’s my goal. It may sound ambitious, but without ambition, nothing truly meaningful is ever created.
