Red Leaves and Death's Shadow
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to give a quick status update on Red Leaves and Death's Shadow. I've completed the rough draft and about 100 pages through the second draft.
The rough pass for me has each scene written out with action and dialogue but little else. In the second pass I add the details of the setting and clean up the language.
Once the second pass is complete, I'll be ready for beta readers. I'll make one final pass based on those notes and then be ready for the editor.

Red Leaves Animated Short Film
I've been kicking around the idea of making an animated short film based on the Red Leaves world for some time now. Well, things are finally moving forward in that area. I finished the script for the short a few weeks ago. Now I'm working on the budget and reaching out to potential production team members.
The script is based on a story that Emret reads in the beginning of the Red Leaves novel. The story is the catalyst for his decision to run off on his own. Because it carries so much weight in the novel, I felt it could stand as its own self contained piece. Here's a link to download a pdf copy. Take a look and feel free to drop a comment/question. Red Leaves and the Living Token update
Based on reader feedback I'm making another pass of "Red Leaves and the Living Token" in order to add more setting and character descriptions. In the current version I was concerned with pacing to the point that I ended up being overly light on a lot of detail. I've finished the first 12 chapters. Once I finish the rest I'll post a summery of the additional detail for those who've already read the book.

Red Leaves and Death's Shadow update

Just a quick update on progress of the sequel to "Red Leaves and the Living Token."
I'm about %70 through the rough draft. The story is taking shape nicely. I'm very happy with the progress.
I had a very firm idea of where I wanted this story to go before I started. The outline was very specific. But now that I've made my way through it I've found great expanses of the story that I couldn't have anticipated in the outline.
The story has grown in a very organic way. I love this stage of the process!

Red Leaves Sequel update
"Red Leaves and Death's Shadow," the second book in the Red Leaves series is underway.
I wanted to give status updates as the book gets closer to completion.
Currently, the scene by scene outline is complete. Most importantly, I know the overall structure, character arcs, and how the book will end.
