Writing Prompt Wednesday +Vanessa B. Bernard +S.M. Bjarnson

1
2 1Edit Thank you so much for this! :) I am always trying to come up with short story prompts and have yet to master the topic game! Anyway! Here is my tale for the Writing Prompt Wednesday~ :)
We were being followed, but not by the usual perpetrators. By the constant and cold wind of the northern hemisphere. Our strides had brought us to a new town, a new city that was less helpful than the last. There were few like us, living, breathing, and moving. Corruption robbed us the motivation to reunite with a happier life, with a happier time.
Water spoiled with feces and the raindrops from Heaven actually came from hell. It seemed there was no escape from this destruction man had caused. We were lost among the waves of protesters.
It was a silent whisper in the night that made me realize the earth could not, would not heal itself after we threw up all over her masterpiece called nature. It was a long time to consider making the world a better place, rushing to the conclusion that change were possible, if not inevitable. But that is not how this story ends. This is not how my brother and I’s cataclysmic memoir begins. The greed of a woman, the jealousy of a man, pushed barriers of personal and moral decisions to prove that we were not meant for freedom of choice, rather choice of freedoms. Catered to the knowledge of the happenings, my feet stumble over rocks, no they are gray and white washed, they must be corpse bones of yesterday. Turmoil struck and I stood face to face with all the kings and queens as they took their last bows, going out in a graceful manner before execution progressed.
What would you say if I told you I knew this event would take place? Not because I saw visions in my mind, pleading against a gift from God. There were signs of mass venality. There are always signs, I remind myself. Signs to inform or warn you against the path you have taken, needless to confirm there are always signs. Signs that tell us that the world is not ending, but beginning a new chapter, a cleansing fire and brimstone era in its stages of life and leisure. Wounded not by weapons but by the ideas of one man who thought it would be better if others thought the same way as well.
I confirm nor deny the accusations of complaining to my accusers. A definite error is trying to be solved in this community.
The error being human.

1 Wow +S.M. Bjarnson! What a powerful piece of prose!
I love the fact that it's set in the real - that they weren't being followed by the "usual predators." That there's a real sense of bleak disaster too. You paint a vivid picture, but one that's a bit unusual...which is totally cool!
Great juxtaposition using the glittering visual of kings and queens against this dying gray world.
And "The error being human" is a fantastic last sentence!
Thank you for sharing this! Fantastic job! :)

I keep dreaming of a story over and over. A story long be...
I keep dreaming of a story over and over. A story long before or has yet o happen. The scenes play out and the characters evolve.
The characters are desperate and highly demeaning. The fresh mean flesh and a young girl must challenge old rule. Held up in a barn. What else is there to do? Will we be saved for ever more? Or will we be encouraged to be endangered to stop the fight of living once more.

Stay at home mama trying to lose weight, Emily Gordon
Stay at home mama trying to lose weightI have been a stay at home mom for 5 years. I worked for 6 months, didnt enjoy the field I was in, so I decided to be a SAHM. It has its rewards and its downs. I love that I can pretty much be with my daughter at all times, except when she is at school. But, sometimes it gets depressing. I starting resenting my husband for being able to go OUT of the house to work. I felt like I had nothing to do, which is NOT the case when you are SAHM. We are always busy! But, I needed someting for me. I needed to feel accomplished, I needed to have goals. I wanted to wake up and feel like I had "work" to get done....deadlines to meet. So, I thought about selling Pampered chef, babysitting (haha) and medical transcripting. But, I never went through with it. I wasn't a pampered chef customer, I didnt want to watch other people children and I didnt want to even think about going back to school. Thats where #Beachbody came into the picture. I was doing #insanity and #brazilianbuttlift. I was added to a facebook page by my coach. I started seeing coaches post how happy and fabulous their lives are. They talked about how Beachbody has changed their lives....how they have helped so many people accomplish their fitness goals. It was around christmas...I had just ordered my #T-25 or my hubby did:) when I thought " Why not me"? why shouldnt I be a coach. I had already completed two programs, I was on my third. I was learning how to eat healthy, people were asking me how I lost weight? HUMMM..so, I signed up to be a coach:) I am still learning how to be healthy and exercise, and at the same I have the privalage of helping others...I have a purpose:0) I have changed for the better since I have been a coach. It shows in my personality, my parenting and my self-esteem:) I love being the super mom...but I am a better super mom because of my new purpose in life:)http://emilygordon0783.blogspot.com/2014/03/stay-at-home-mama-trying-to-lose-weight.html
A perfect example of making something work the way you want or need it to work! I am a writer and a stay at home momma, so there is much to do! Busy housework chores along with short story ideas that need scribbling down. We all have different ways to go about the same role in society. I love her drive to new things and figure out which hat she wants to wear that fits her best! :) #findyourcalling #stayathomemom -S.M. Bjarnson

Introvert Awakening Part 1, S.M. Bjarnson
"I awake and find that I have become an introvert. There are days when I wish for nothing more than to close my eyes and envision a blank canvas, an empty world filled with quiet pleasure. Days I awake and want nothing more than to steer opposite to the words I write and the sentences I have to read. I’ve become silent and mute to the surrounding chaos dwindling the atmosphere around my beckoning body. There are words that cannot be said. Feelings that cannot be spared in worry of frustration or unwanted danger. I struggle to find the truth in my words, because I look upon them and feel as a con. Spelling gets to me in a way I thought unreasonable to comment on. It wasn’t the letters that I had forgotten or the pattern they marched in, it was the fact they seemed unfamiliar to me like I had not made their acquaintance before in my life time. Like playing with strangers you are at a loss for connection because you know not their moral tendencies." -S.M.B

Speak With Integrity - S.M. Bjarnson
Be Impeccable with your word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.- Don Miguel Ruiz
See more at: http://www.getsuccessquotes.com/motivational-quotes/be-honest-have-integrity-always-keep-your-promises/#sthash.DEgE36Yp.dpufToday's spout of motivation/inspiration is categorized in the column of words. Many things can be said about the words we write. But what about the words we speak? Are they helpful? Necessary? Kind? Are you speaking for other's benefits or your own?
Remember, "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all!"
So there is literally thousands of gossips circling this place we claim as home. Earth has been turned into a fictitious reality show, only the materialistic at heart choose to accept. Us, common folk look around and shake our obedient heads in a silent disappointment. We have made the decision to steer clear of the worldy wonders, because we realize it has destroyed and will destroy once again.
"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." Frank Outlaw

As writers do our thoughts and feelings turn into fiction hold more truth, hold more soul than that of this living world? Can you honestly suggest the hidden heroes would claim stardom if they would know they shall be ruined by it? Expressions of gratitude are placed in the very throws of enchantment. Saying thank you can change your appreciation levels of a higher self-esteem and IQ rating.

Shall we all enter a room that conflicts the humbleness in our souls? Let us as writers, as visionaries revise our speech to benefit and profit humanity, instead of destructing the behavior, let us nurture the backbone of future generations with kind words and imaginative thinking. -S.M.B

Sneak Peek 3: The Tangled Tears 2nd Edition, S.M. Bjarnson

“Please trust me, AJ.” He gave out his hand and I looked at it dismayingly. Blanket placed in his hand instead of a warm motion.“I don’t think its trust you need, Jenks.” The heat turns up. Peering out the windshield onto the busy road. Insults aimed at a welcoming gesture, along with the man who stood behind it. I ached to know that affection. I wanted to reach out and touch him. My thoughts led back to one thing; would he be worth losing? “Now how did you really find me Jenks? We both know my father did no search or rescue for reasons we both are clear of.” I hesitated on my words. I kept distance not caring anymore.S.M. Bjarnson
“I remember some of the stories you use to tell in middle school about Winter and you. There was always one I heard most overall; the summer cottage in the park.” His eyes playing mismatch with mine.

Proud or Pride, S.M. Bjarnson
PROUD or PRIDE
S.M. Bjarnson
Today's topic might come as a shock, or rather surprise for some people. But I am going to talk about it anyway because I have been dwelling careless thoughts on the topic of being proud or is it prideful? So here it goes! The comparison and contrast of each topic although similar are very opposite. While writing The CIRCUS IN ME, I found that the Amish people do not have modern cars or vehicles as a means to not be prideful about these things. Having these items makes one think as they put it above another. Although this may be true, I found myself wondering in reality what the difference between being proud and being prideful. Was it the fancy cars or nice clothing that makes us prideful and not proud? My ideas or thoughts on the topic may not be the same examples as you have in your thought pattern. Any comments on the topic please reply below! Here is a better aspect of the two common words!
Making yourself proud, taking pride in your work, behavior and results is a personal commitment. It is an attitude which separates excellence from mediocrity and a powerful demonstration of self-respect.
If you’re going to do something…Do it right the first time,Do it in the spirit of excellence,Do it so that it sets an inspiring example,Do it in a way that you are proud to have your name associated with it.http://www.everythingcounts.com/make-yourself-proud/
The remarks of others jealous eyes making us look unnecessarily proud of what we have earned. There are times to feel good about yourself, boosting in glory of the things you have worked hard for and deserved to earn. I understand the difficulty and your right to receive. But that is being happy with what you have yearned for, being satisfied and feeling accomplished in the pleasure of what you own. Not a means to showing off to every individual you know that you have a newer version of everything in sight. So here are some remarks, don't take them lightly!

Kurt Vonnegut’s 8 Tips on How to Write a Great Storyby Maria Popova
S.M.'s thoughts: Beauty in his words! Excellent take on grabbing the readers attention span and reversing the technique of how you should sincerely write a short fictional story!
Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.Every sentence must do one of two things — reveal character or advance the action.Start as close to the end as possible.Be a Sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them-in order that the reader may see what they are made of.Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2012/04/03/kurt-vonnegut-on-writing-stories/
