“...I haven't guessed where your shirt is from yet Bane, but I don't think it'll matter once it's underwater!'
Tristan looked at Bane questioningly.
Bane rolled his eyes and stage whispered: 'She asked why I cared so much about getting her dirty, teary face all my new shirt earlier, and asked where I got it from anyway. I said: 'Guess', and then she said she didn't have a clue. And then we bumped into you before I could break it down for her.'
Tristan snorted. 'Are you serious?'
'As an earthquake', Bane smirked.”

“I could have killed her!’ she exclaimed. And the next thing Tristan knew, he was flying across the water and pulled into one of her outstretched hands, where she shook him violently.
‘Do you get that?!’ The lovely, furious queen raged as she jostled him. His teeth rattled. ‘I was prepared to-’
‘Fight.’ Tristan said, covering her hand with his own, using his strength to force down her movements, breathing heavily. ‘For me.’ He smiled at her tenderly, not allowing her to break the gaze. ‘For once.”

“When you have a bad year, there is this need to package it up and write it off-as I have done in the past. I hope, in 2014, when things go badly-people create themselves a New Years’s day the moment they need it. Don’t make 12 resolutions in January but one with every breath. Don’t wait until December 31st to start anew. You can divide time with months and days and weeks-but each minute is only a minute long and belongs completely to itself. What you do in those tiny moments that seem so inconsequential are what will define not only your year-but your life”

Mord once prowled the corridors of the biotech organization known as the Company, which lies at the outskirts of the city, until he was experimented on, grew large, learned to fly and broke free. "Never Let Me Go meets The Giver in this haunting debut about a cult on an isolated island, where nothing is as it seems.
Years ago, just before the country was incinerated to wasteland, ten men and their families colonized an island off the coast. They built a radical society of ancestor worship, controlled breeding, and the strict rationing of knowledge and history. Only the Wanderers--chosen male descendants of the original ten--are allowed to cross to the wastelands, where they scavenge for detritus among the still-smoldering fires.
The daughters of these men are wives-in-training. At the first sign of puberty, they face their Summer of Fruition, a ritualistic season that drags them from adolescence to matrimony. They have children, who have children, and when they are no longer useful, they take their final draught and die. But in the summer, the younger children reign supreme. With the adults indoors and the pubescent in Fruition, the children live wildly--they fight over food and shelter, free of their fathers' hands and their mothers' despair. And it is at the end of one summer that little Caitlin Jacob sees something so horrifying, so contradictory to the laws of the island, that she must share it with the others.
Born leader Janey Solomon steps up to seek the truth. At seventeen years old, Janey is so unwilling to become a woman, she is slowly starving herself to death. Trying urgently now to unravel the mysteries of the island and what lies beyond, before her own demise, she attempts to lead an uprising of the girls that may be their undoing."

"A decade in the future, humanity thrives in the absence of sickness and disease.
We owe our good health to a humble parasite - a genetically engineered tapeworm developed by the pioneering SymboGen Corporation. When implanted, the tapeworm protects us from illness, boosts our immune system - even secretes designer drugs. It's been successful beyond the scientists' wildest dreams. Now, years on, almost every human being has a SymboGen tapeworm living within them.
But these parasites are getting restless. They want their own lives...and will do anything to get them."

"Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the worst thing she'd ever been through. That was before her planet was invaded. Now, with enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra are forced to fight their way onto one of the evacuating craft, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.
But the warship could be the least of their problems. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet's AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their biggest threat; and nobody in charge will say what's really going on. As Kady plunges into a web of data hacking to get to the truth, it's clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: Ezra.
Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents— including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes."

“Evil itself may be relentless. I will grant you that, but love is relentless too. Friendship is a relentless force. Family is a relentless force. Faith is relentless force. The human spirit is relentless, and the human heart outlasts - and can defeat - even the most relentless force of all, which is time.”

“Write. Start writing today. Start writing right now. Don’t write it right, just write it –and then make it right later. Give yourself the mental freedom to enjoy the process, because the process of writing is a long one. Be wary of “writing rules” and advice. Do it your way.”

No Lisa I was really careful to get it 'upper' neck. The tail goes over thr top notch on my spine and it hurt like crazy but the rest, without bone beneath was totally endurable :)

ps - nice tat by the way!! - glad you worked through it and got it done. They say that is one of the most painful areas, i thought it hurt just as much as the other areas did lol

*Waves back faster 'cos she's had too much caffeine*

I was born in Lower Hutt in NZ and surrounded by Kiwis :) I'm supposed to be there right now on my first skiing holiday ever, but it fell through for a few reasons. Oh well! Hopefully next year!
Some of book 2 (Which comes out Friday) is centred around NZ characters. Also Norfolk Island and predominately, North Queensland where I live. As well as Hawaii, Sydney...my mermaids sure cover some distance in this one!
I hope you like it! I see you've read a HEAP of mermaid stuff. I'm jealous-I haven't cracked one yet. Am waiting until all 3 of mine go up, and I can distance myself from my own theories a little to sink into other's fantasies. Can't wait!

Likewise!

I like your new profile pic. Actually, I like all of them. Gorgeous!"
Thanks Lurid!

The honor is mine. Now let's bitch about da leading ladies! :)

Crazy4more have you seen the Edward and Bella photo when they're in jail? I came across it today and LOVED it
http://mermaidwhispererskmunt.tumblr....

No problem :)

Did you like it? So much of it worked but the stuff that didn't could be distracting. It's one of those books that needs to be read though, because they're going to get copied.

nice to meet you, look forward to getting our chat on :D
