Mini Review
So currently I am ready Ncky Charles book, The Mating (law of Lycans) and I have to say that I cant put it down. It has me hooked and the passion but realism of it all is what keeps me from paying attention to anything else but the book. The masculinity of Kane is enticing and the purity represented by Elise is fresh but together they make a very complimentary couple. However the event in which they find themselves in test the fidelity and trust of their freshly bonded relationship.
I just had to write something about it for now because waiting to finish the book was not an option. However I will definitely write another review once I am done with it. The Mating

How To Get Inspired
So I am often asked how it is that I come up with my material. I would like to say that it just comes to me but the truth is, it doesn't. I often sit on my computer and stare into the blank spaces on the word document and then allow my mind to wander off on its own. A lot of my writing process is actually not writing at all but feeling the story. I allow the images of my deepest desires and the word around me to dance in a series of unrelated pictures. Each one becomes a potential story. I envision what each one would be and then toss them out as I sort through the ones that don't catch my attention.
With my eyes closed I select a few of those images that I felt were worthy of becoming my next adventure and finally begin to put on paper my ideas. Although incoherent at the moment, I allow my fingers to races across the keyboard. Words spill out rapidly and all I can is allow them to be. Free writing is my greatest tool. So much of my work comes from it. once I have an idea for each image I had earlier picked, I read through the mumbo jumbo I have written and truly see which has the greatest potential. It is then that I choose my next story and begin an adventure that will guarantee to keep me busy for several months.
Yet the process does not stop there. When I find myself reaching a dead end or confused at to which way to go in the story, I take a break. I walk away from it all (or just stay sitting down but close the program) and find something else to do. I turn on the tv, eat, read a book or magazine, or check all my social networks. Sooner than later my problem is solved and I have worked out what would be the next step of my story. But how, you ask?
Well, everything around you is material. The conversations you have, the commercials you watch, your daily experiences etc. You cant expect for the to write itself or to always get inspired while write. Sometimes you have to actually look for the inspiration and sometimes you have to forget. For example, have you ever noticed you come up with some of the best ideas while you shower, cook, or watch tv? Thats because the brain never stops working and when you stop focusing on something you allow your brain to work through it on its own pace. Then you get the sudden "ding" light bulb effect.
So how do I come up with my material, well it not so much come up as it is letting myself become influenced by even the slightest detail of my life. Its a process in on itself but it is the most important one of all.
Can you relate? How do you get inspired? Do you have a "ritual" as your pre-writing game?

Embracing a Legend
Here is an excerpt from my new book. Enjoy!
Prologue
Ashley grabbed her purse and left the room, leaving a naked man on her bed. Maybe she would have been in a better mood if they had had sex the night before, but their relationship was beginning to suffer even in that respect. He lay naked only because that was how he liked to sleep.
Ashley sat in the kitchen and sipped her coffee. The sun was barely peeking through the clouds and her mind was beginning to switch on as the coffee did its magic. “Mmm,” she moaned as the black liquid touched her lips and made its way into her body, warming her from the inside out. She closed her eyes and pictured a muscular man with that Fabio look. He would stand there in that cliché pose with the wind blowing through his hair just so she could have an eyeful of his … A smile crossed her lips as the naked stranger took her into the forest and made sweet, hot love to her. He grabbed her, laid her on the ground, and ripped her shirt open. Buttons flew everywhere, but she didn’t care. Mr. Handsome kissed her all over, starting at her soft neck and working his way down to her breast, stopping only to retrace the kisses. She was ready for him to ravish her even if it was only in her imagination. Her piano needed fine-tuning, and Mr. Handsome had just the right notes to makes her hit falsetto. He removed her bra and filled his hands with her flesh. Slowly his lips parted, allowing his tongue to …
“Ash?” A shout echoed down the stairs and into the kitchen. Ashley cringed at the sound of his voice interrupting her daydream and possible orgasm. A few more minutes would have been golden.
A sigh escaped her lips as he yelled again. “Want to join me in the shower? I’m all clean!”
Really? She thought. At moments like this, she realized how much out of love she had fallen. Ashley decided to ignore him and leave. Maybe when she got to work she could sit in her car for a bit and finish the erotic fantasy that already had her engines going.

My Journey
I have to say that the road that led me to the place I am at now was not an easy one. Yes, of course, its no ones fault but my own but I'm glade I did it that way. I learned so much about who I am what I really want in life. I've cried, laughed, struggled, and now enjoying the fruits of my labor. The book that I have now finally published literally was written in the midst of me raising a family and going to school. I barely had time to breathe let alone write a book but somehow managed. I look back and its all blurry but it doesn't take away from my gratitude towards all the people that helped along the way.
At the time my husband was in the military and having to build a relationship at a more spiritual and emotional level, helped with the building of my characters and relationships.
Finally I had my first draft. However, it was far from being finished. writing the story was the fun part but now I was beginning the editing phase. This took me a very long time to do. through this process, I learned so much of what it means to truly be a writer and dedicated one must be to complete their work. There were so many things that I forgot to add to my story. i guess it was one of those things where you thought of it but as you typed you skipped over those details (which happens to me often).
Two years later, I finally began the publishing process. It was a long several months but they must have been the best months of my life since writing the book. I did a lot of reflecting as I saw my book enter the final stages of publication. It really made me appreciate so much more the authors that I read. I always had so much respect for books. To me one of the best parts of reading a new book, is getting that package in the mail, opening the packaging and actually feeling the book. That crispy new book smell and fresh untouched pages, waiting to be ravaged by my eager eyes. Yes, yes I do get that much enjoyment without having yet read the book.
You see, so many people now have gotten so enveloped in this age of technology that they refuse to do things that take time. Everything has to be fast and done on their tablets or smartphones. So now the demand for ebooks is higher than ever. No one enjoys the anxiety one gets waiting for their book to come in the mail or the nice walk to the book store. No one enjoys anymore the feel of a book in your hand which allows you to escape with ints bounds. No, its not the same. So the hard work I put in for my book has me looking at the industry with a different set of eyes.
Now as I sit doing my second book I just wonder to myself how many people actually enjoy reading a book because they physically enjoy it and how many just read it because they only want that mental getaway.
