A to Z: F is for Friend

Hello Poetteers,

A few days back I found out about the Blitz poetry form and did my first attempt. I decided to give it a few more tries. Enjoy!

Forgive & Forget

Forgive myself
forgive you
you forget
you forget me not
not hate
not bad
bad to good
bad to love
love yourself
love everyone
everyone could
everyone could make it better
better for me
better for you
you will change
you will stay the same
same as always
same as forever
forever here
forever in my heart
here
in my heart.

---

Friends Forever

You are a friend
you are a sister
sister in faith
sister in freedom
freedom to learn
freedom to share
share frustrations
share other feelings
feelings of fasting
feelings of love
love is here
love is freedom
here
is freedom.

Love and thank you, Fida

PROM IMPOSSIBLE cover reveal

Hello Poetteers,

I have a second post for you today!! Today is the cover reveal for Laura Pauling's book PROM IMPOSSIBLE!

Publication date: May 2014
Genres: Comedy, Romance, Young Adult

Synopsis:
1 girl. 1 prom. 3 guys.

Cassidy decides her senior year, including prom, will be about Michael Greenwood, the boy destined to be her soul mate. One problem. He hasn’t figured that out yet.

But certain events like exploding smoke bombs—that weren’t completely her fault—introduce her to Zeke, the reformed bad boy. And cutting deals in the boys’ bathroom with Jasper, the hottest guy in school, lands her in a complicated web of half-truths that spirals out of control.

At the end of the year, she’s dateless the day before the big night but risks a lot more than her pride if she can’t find a way to fix her mistakes.

PROM IMPOSSIBLE is a modern-day Shakespearean romantic comedy in the world of teens, true love, and life. Add to Goodreads.

Laura writes young adult romantic suspense and romantic comedy. She’s the author of the exciting Circle of Spies Series, and the time travel mystery, HEIST. She’s a former elementary teacher and currently lives in New England. After spending time reading books to her kids and loving a good plot turn, she put her fingers to the keyboard. Don’t ask her about the unfinished quilts and scrapbooks. Stories are way more exciting.

She writes to entertain and experience a great story and to be able to work in her jammies and slippers. You can find her on her website, Facebook and Twitter.

Love and thank you, Fida

Review: COUNTING TO D

Hello Poetteers,

Counting to D Counting to D by Kate Scott

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I would give this book more than five stars if I could. This is a unique story. A concept I think hasn't been done before. (I have not read a profound amount of books, yet).

I'm glad she has a close friend that pushes her and another that reads to her. And I love her number tactic. I love all three girls and their little quirks. I love that she quickly found a group in her new school. I can't wait to see how this nerd group goes. I already thought Nate was cute. He got cuter when he accepted her dyslexia. And has a love for books and poetry. I can relate to him, me being the quiet one.

I myself love poetry and puzzles. I myself am living with a learning/physical disability. This book spoke to me as it helped me relate and take advice.

You may hide from the truth, but once you reveal it you realize who your real friends are and not many of them will leave you. I love her bravery.

I'm a sensitive girl and scenes in this book made me cry. I really see myself with these special ed students. I remember back in high school I used to help them just like she read to Yesenia.

And I love the great Gatsby references. I love the surprise of finding a friend in a girl you didn't expect to be with.

Every few pages/chapters I read I had to stop to comprehend it all. I love this book! I'm sure it'll leave me with a hangover.

Love and thank you, Fida

What's up Wednesday

Hello Poetteers,

What I'm Reading?

I finished reading ELEVATED by Elana Johnson on Monday. My rating: 5 of 5 stars. You can check out my review.

Yesterday I finished Learning to Swim (Hearts Out of Water #1) Learning to Swim by Annie Cosby

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I started reading. It had no action, and was slow. Taking it's time to set up the story. For us to know the characters well. Then I got distracted, didn't even think of it, didn't rush back like I usually do. I picked it up again because I needed something to do.

Like I said it was just introducing the characters. But bits here and there gave some action. Not until past the halfway mark. I guess that happens in a series but this is the first series I felt that, this slow.

At halfway and after is when the relationships really started to form and give the action I wanted in a story.

I can relate to her sensitivity. I love her bravery. Her want to travel. I don't like Owen but I do love her relationship with Rory. And the mystery of the old lady that's unfolding? I love how she (Cora) finally found her way to her mom and vise versa. Then the old lady died! I want to read the next book to find out about it and more about Rory.

What I'm Writing?

I'm working on my new WIP to take my mind of the other WIP I have been revising and planning to write a sequel for. This new WIP is about two best friends taking a road-trip to find themselves. Check out my inspiration board.

What's Inspiring Me Right Now?

The heavy, no thunder rain. Spring around the corner and the sun and long days it brings. The cold days have made me exhausted. I thrive off of the warm days.

Love and thank you, Fida

Poem on ELEVATED

Hello Poetteers,

The book
the characters
the poetry
it all made me hurt
made me think
relate to them.

I know of isolated young ladies.
and I like sensitive young men.

I love the little things that happened. Like rooftop talks. Video games and cooking. I want more of their world.

Inspired me to write
made me think
of my own isolation
silence
different, maybe similar
I want to reach out
help each other
yet it does help me.

Cry, smile
fresh air to breathe
a house
a family and friends
to love
places to go
and come back to

thank you, Fida

Review: TWENTY EIGHT AND A HALF WISHES

Hello Poetteers,

I have another review for you!

Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (Rose Gardner Mystery, #1) Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Grover Swank

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book has been out since 2011, so I don't care. I'm having subtle spoilers in my review!

The cover doesn't give much away. With out the tagline and blurb you wouldn't think it was a mystery but a love story. Even though there is lots of love in the book.

At first I didn't think it would be much complexity. But oh all the mysteries!! And all the emotions!! Her mom, her other mom and her aunt. Her sister. I love all the bonding. Oh and her dog! I love that she wrote a bucket list and made sure to do it all. That's what gave lightheartedness to this dark story.

I love her phrase crappy doodles. I love, hate, love Joe. Btw, what is his real name? You slowly can see all of this coming, but at the end there was a small part I didn't see coming. It scared and surprised me. But after much thinking it really didn't. It helped tie a loose end. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I think two weeks after my second publication (HER OLIVES) is a good time to make some announcements.

A TO Z POETRY in ebook is on sale at Smashwords for their ebook week.

A TO Z POETRY in paperback is no longer being sold.

BUT...

It has the same poems, just a new format and like the title says, A TO Z POETRY is getting a new cover!!

Scroll...

Scroll...

Thank you Heather for designing it!

It's available on Kindle. And will be available in paperback next week.

Buy new edition: CreateSpace | Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo

Besides that I've been back to reading a lot!

Dragonfly (Dragonfly, #1) Dragonfly by Leigh Talbert Moore

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love all the characters and their artistic talents. I can't wait to read more!

I kind of want Lucy and her (Anna) to become a better friends but for Jack to leave. But that's what makes the story interesting. I love all the little mysteries in the beginning and how a bigger one unraveled later on. Ahh!! Now I want to read the rest of the series!

Now I have to be honest and say I'm not much for the cover but it does tell you a lot about the story. Some of the biggest changes happen on the beach. I also love the seeming reason behind the title. You are just going to have to read it to find out!
