Pre Valentine’s Day Fun Scenario
You are sitting down in the mall and waiting for whomever while he/she shops. A person suddenly appears and asks to look after their unopened box of heart shaped candy and be back soon. The red shiny candy box is still wrapped in clear plastic and not inside a bag. You say ‘yes’ and the person leaves. You wait a really long time, and the person never appears again. Your companion comes back finished with their shopping.
Do you take the candy box to the information desk to be later placed in lost and found? Do you take the candy box and give it your intended valentine the next day and happy not to be spending any money on the month of love? Do you take the candy box home for yourself to eat regardless of having an intended valentine or not? What would you do? Also, this might be a fun, short/long writing prompt. Enjoy! 💕 ♥️ 💜

An Awful Hallow’s Eve Tale (scary spelling & grammar included 😉)
Some kids went trick-or-treating on one particular street. Most of the neighbors were average greeting many cheery, costumed kids and handing out Halloween candy from their door. But....there was this one particular neighbor who seemed a little off, not to be impolite, different. This neighbor had a bowl of silver and green foiled chocolate candy shaped as a cricket. The kids took just one each instead of a handful while holding a stiff toothy smile at that neighbor.
During the course of days afterwards, the kids started gobbling way their Halloween candy stash. When they got to the chocolate cricket and peeled away the shiny foil, it was just solid chocolate. No cricket bits! Hooray! The kids took a bite. But...then they heard a cricket noise somewhere in the corners of their bedroom. They looked around but could not find any cricket or insect. The cricket noise chirped again! Scared and startled 😮, they spat out the cricket chocolate on the floor. They stomped on the candy mushing it to a paste. When they looked 👀 below, it was just still a smashed up chocolate candy......
For some reason though, even after eating much candy, the kids did not ever forget this particular Halloween. The memories remained to adulthood. Throughout their whole lives! 😮 Ohhhhh, The HORROR!!! 😱😰😨😭😵👻👾☠️👽🎃🤖🦇🦉🌲 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A partial eclipse but a full ponder
I thought about 'Nightfall by Isaac Asimov' for today's solar eclipse. How lucky it was we could view the solar eclipse with a peace of mind and in many different ways compared to the short story. Read 'Nightfall' to be thrilled in upside down suspense. I did avert my eyes from the sun during the eclipse.
While it was a partial eclipse here in the Seattle area, the event was nevertheless wonderful. I went outside at 10:00 am when it seemed early evening was slowly falling till 10:20 am then early evening was reversing back to late dawn to the full brightness of the morning. The night crickets were also tricked to chirping. The dim but somehow bright lighting was beautiful. Almost an opalescent shimmer that embraced the world underneath the sky. I suppose a great moment for catching the light for photos depending which time before it got too 'shadowy'. I would say it pretty much went back to 'as usual' at 11:10 am where the sunlight and shade was hitting the usual spots in the trees and grass I was used to seeing. At 9:42 am, the light and shade was off thinking back.
It was spectacular to see late afternoon turn into early dim evening then early evening changing instead to late dawn to late morning.

A quote
It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words, like 'What about lunch?' A. A. Milne
