Have you ever poured your heart and soul into a project, relationship, or goal only to have it go…nowhere? There’s no change. No progress. No world-altering response to acknowledge your blood and prayers, sweat and tears, only crickets. Or worse, flat-out rejection.

Been there, done that.

But sometimes, the crickets explode into song that crescendo into a resounding BOOM. It’s those moments, my friends, that make all the struggle worthwhile.

Druid Cursed is a perfect picture of never giving up, both for me and the characters. I almost pushed it back under the bed to gather dust bunnies. So many things went wrong—the paranormal romance anthology I initially wrote it for folded at the last minute. It went through a round of submissions and requests, then edit requests, only to be ultimately passed up. I worked on other books and slowly surrendered my hope of finding a home for Druid Cursed.

Until I did.

And just like that, hope was reborn.

Which is exactly what happens to Maggie O’Malley in Druid Cursed. She’s given up on true love—been there, done that. Instead, she’s working on figuring out how to do life alone, starting out with an all-expenses paid trip to Ireland, courtesy of a shady contest win. And when she least expects it…BOOM. Enter Kellen Ravenwood, brooding druid extraordinaire. While she may not want to admit it straight away, her hope is reborn.

Maybe that’s why love and books seem to go together so perfectly. To give us hope through the struggles of life. To give us strength to carry on. To remind us to never give up.

And on that note, I’m sooooo happy to share the cover of Druid Cursed with you.

 

I adore it. I told my agent that if I saw that cover in the bookstore, I’d be all grabby hands for it without even looking at the back cover. That hasn’t happened with any of my other covers.
